We're laying the foundation for massive scale, and this role will shape the future of our core backend infrastructure to power products across consumer and partner ___ Revi Role 👩‍💻 👨🏾‍💻 We’re looking for a seasoned and thoughtful Senior Backend Engineer to design and build scalable backend services that power Revi’s core applications. You’ll develop APIs, manage databases, and collaborate closely with Product and Frontend teams to build reliable, performant systems that support our mission. You’ll play a key role in improving speed, performance, and architecture as we scale. • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, and microservices in Python (Django Admin), • Optimize performance across distributed systems and relational databases (PostgreSQL), • Lead backend architecture for critical roadmap initiatives, including AI-assisted tooling, payments, and reporting, • Ensure reliability, maintainability, and observability across backend systems, • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Frontend teams to define and deliver features end-to-end, • Drive CI/CD best practices, test coverage, and deployment quality across environments, • Guide infrastructure evolution on AWS, including compute, storage, and monitoring, • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical decision-making and code reviews, • 4–6 years of backend engineering experience, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment, • Deep expertise in Python and strong knowledge of backend frameworks like Django (Django Admin a plus), • Hands-on experience building APIs, event-driven systems, and services at scale, • Proficiency in SQL database design, query performance tuning, and NoSQL familiarity, • Working knowledge of AWS services (e.g., ECS/Fargate, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, etc.), • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform or CDK), • Comfort using AI coding tools like GitHub Copilot or Cursor as development companions, • A strong product sense and willingness to dive into ambiguous problems with pragmatism, • Clear written and verbal communication skills; team-first mindset, • Experience with payment systems (e.g., Stripe) and other third-party integrations (e.g., Kitchen Hub, Otter, 7Shifts etc.), • Familiarity with observability stacks like Datadog, Sentry, or Prometheus/Grafana, • Contributions to open-source or past experience mentoring junior engineers., • DevOps experience with AWS and other cloud systems., • ❤️ Heart: A team that is passionate about what they do, with a heart of giving back., • 🔨 Impact: Drives backend innovation that directly enables Revi’s platform scale., • 🧠 Conscientious: Writes clean, scalable, and maintainable code that holds up at scale., • 🏆 Excellence: A commitment to quality, testing, and thoughtful architecture., • Equity package, • Competitive salary + bonus, • Professional development opportunities, • Excellent and comprehensive health plans (Medical, dental, vision, etc), • Flexible Vacation Policy, Paid holidays, • Organized volunteer events to give back to our community, • Off-sites, events, and happy hours, • 401(k)$145,000 - $180,000 a yearThanks for applying to Revi!
