Job DescriptionSalary: Starting at $20/hr Required Qualifications: • Dependable, with strong followthrough and reliability., • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision., • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, • Excellent oral and written communication abilities, • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)., • Consistently positive and professional attitude., • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detail., • Intermediate proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet research, and database systems., • Exceptional organizational and timemanagement skills., • Ability to set priorities aligned with short and longterm goals and meet deadlines., • Valid Texas drivers license with a good driving record., • Reliable access to a personal vehicle for businessrelated travel during work hours., • Availability to work Tuesday through Saturday Essential Duties: • Support Habitat for Humanity ideals and mission through support of the management teams goals, objectives, and decisions., • Ensure strict adherence to Habitat policies, core values, procedures, and internal controls., • Personnel Management: Supervision of long term volunteers such as AmeriCorps or other service corps. Keep the AVP of Chapter Development informed of all performance matters regarding said volunteers. Provide comments and recommendations for evaluations, shift scheduling and service compliance matters. Physical Demands & Work Environment: • Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods., • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 40 lbs., • Ability to use hands for simple grasping and fine motor tasks., • Ability to listen, comprehend, and process information presented verbally., • Ability to read and understand written information and instructions., • Ability to clearly enunciate words and communicate effectively in spoken form., • Ability to stand and move for prolonged periods, including navigating uneven terrain and working in varying weather conditions typical of construction environments. Volunteer Services Program: • Coordinate volunteer recruitment and orientation for all HFHSAGV activities, collaborating closely with the departments that will directly supervise volunteers., • Coordinate recruitment, placement, training, basic needs (food, lodging, transportation), orientation, benefits, supervision, community-building and reporting for the AmeriCorps program (when applicable)., • Maintain all schedules and volunteer rosters for construction sites., • Host volunteers (sponsors, Habitat homebuyers, community volunteers and the general public) on the work site during construction activities. Coordinate orderly sign in procedures, site meals, volunteer safety, first aid and other supportive services as deemed necessary per site. Facilitate distribution and collection of volunteer surveys., • Work closely with the AVP of Chapter Development to develop appropriate training programs for HFHSAGV volunteers in conjunction with departmental staff. Train volunteers, sponsors, and/or community groups about low-income housing needs in San Antonio and about the Habitat program for addressing these needs., • Understand and manage volunteer insurance issues in consultation with the AVP of Chapter Development., • Assist the VP of Construction with coordination of construction safety program. Provide appropriate safety information, signage and supplies at the construction site (includes 1st aid kit maintenance)., • Coordinate all volunteer appreciation/recognition events and activities., • Maintain all volunteer and other appropriate databases and use the internet for volunteer coordination activities., • With the support of the AVP of Chapter Development, deliver public presentations on HFHSAGV and/or volunteer opportunities as needed. General Program Support: • Coordinate special projects as needed., • Respond to requests for information from partners and the public., • Generate outreach opportunities to recruit volunteers., • Represent HFHSAGV at special events and meetings as needed., • Perform administrative duties and clerical tasks as needed to fulfill these job duties., • Other duties as assigned.
