Job Description About the Role: The OSP Telecom Utility Technician Foreman is responsible for leading field crews in the installation, maintenance, and testing of outside plant fiber optic and telecom infrastructure. This role oversees daily job site operations, ensures quality and safety compliance, and coordinates closely with project management to keep projects on schedule and within scope. The Foreman serves as the primary field leader, driving productivity while maintaining high workmanship standards. Specific Responsibilities: · Lead and supervise OSP crews performing fiber optic and telecom infrastructure installations. · Coordinate daily job site activities, crew assignments, and production schedules. · Interpret construction drawings, splice diagrams, permits, and utility locates. · Oversee fiber placement including aerial, underground, and directional bore applications. · Ensure proper installation of handholes, vaults, conduit, innerduct, and cable routing. · Supervise fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshooting using OTDR and power meters. · Maintain quality control standards and ensure work meets project specifications. · Enforce OSHA safety standards and conduct daily job safety briefings. · Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and utility representatives. · Track daily production, materials usage, and submit accurate field reports. · Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and materials on site. · Train and mentor junior technicians and laborers. · Identify and resolve field challenges to avoid project delays. · Ensure restoration work meets municipal and customer requirements. · Maintain clear communication with customers and internal leadership. Required Qualifications: · Reliable transportation and ability to report to the jobsite on time daily. · Valid driver’s license if required for the role. · Full PPE including hard hat, safety vest, steel toe boots, gloves, and safety glasses. · Basic hand tools and trade specific tools as required. · Ability to pass a background check and drug screening. · Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing for extended periods. · Ability to follow safety protocols and OSHA guidelines. · Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to take direction. · Ability to work independently and as part of a team. · Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or extended shifts as needed. · OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred · Ability to work in secure or badge access environments.
