Position Summary The President of Operations will lead all day-to-day new construction Plumbing & HVAC operations with a strong focus on profitability, efficiency, and disciplined execution. The right candidate understands to a high level how construction projects function operationally and commercially—and can keep both moving without falling behind. This position reports directly to ownership and will work closely with our Senior Estimator to learn how we operate, how we price, and how we maintain profitable jobs. Key Responsibilities • Provide overall leadership and direction for all Plumbing and HVAC operations, ensuring excellence across every project., • Oversee and support Project Managers, Field Supervisors, and Administrative staff to ensure efficient project execution., • Manage schedule of values, billing, change orders, and all project documentation with full accuracy., • Develop and manage operational budgets, profitability goals, and performance metrics., • Conduct project reviews and site visits to verify production, safety, and installation quality., • Review and approve major contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders to protect financial and scope alignment., • Drive schedule performance and resource planning across multiple concurrent projects., • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, vendors, inspectors, and subcontractors., • Ensure compliance with state and local plumbing/HVAC codes, permits, and safety standards., • Implement and refine standardized project management systems (Contractor Foreman, Procore, Textura, etc.) across teams., • Lead recruitment, training, and professional development for field and office personnel., • Collaborate with estimating and procurement teams on pre-construction planning and bid strategies., • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement across all departments., • Improve operational processes, communication, and workflows company-wide., • Report job progress, financials, and workforce performance directly to ownership. Qualifications ● 7+ years of experience in mechanical construction, including at least 5 years in a senior management role. ● Strong background in plumbing new construction for multi-family and commercial projects. (HVAC is a plus) ● Proven ability to manage multiple project teams and large-scale operations simultaneously. ● Deep understanding of blueprints, specifications, budgeting, and mechanical system design. ● Strong financial acumen, including experience managing P&L, cost controls, forecasting, and schedule of values oversight. ● Proficiency in project management software (Contractor Foreman, Procore, Textura, or similar). ● Ability to manage field labor across multiple active projects. ● Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. ● Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. ● Someone who is committed, passionate about the work, and brings the energy and enthusiasm needed to lead effectively. ● Comfortable working both in the office and in the field.
