Job Description Department: Quality Position Type: Full-Time, Salaried (Exempt) Position Reports To: General Manager Direct Reports (Position): Inspectors, CAPA Coordinator, Quality Integration Coordinator Job Summary: The Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) is responsible for: leading and integrating a “Quality First” work culture, the overall performance of the assigned Quality Department(s) and its personnel, interfacing with customers to resolve nonconformities, and serves as the primary contact for customer audits, AS9100 certification audits, and Nadcap accreditation audits. The QAM is responsible for implementing the activities needed to maintain and continually improve the quality management system, including the processes needed and their interactions, in accordance with AS9100, Nadcap, FAA, and customer requirements. The QAM collaborates and partners with the top management to strategize, plan, execute, implement, and sustain activities that align with company goals and enhance the customer experience. The QAM works closely with management, supervisors, leads, and employees during implementation and sustainment of these activities. The QAM is responsible for implementation and communication of the quality objectives and KPI’s with the support from top management. The expectations of the QAM are to implement and sustain strategies that improve the processes within the existing Quality Management System that have a direct impact on improved quality, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, and support the growth and the overall QMS objectives of the company. Responsibilities: *Note – “QMS” refers to AS9100, Nadcap, FAA, and customer requirements • Company-wide compliance to statutory, regulatory, and customer requirements, • Primary Management Representative IAW AS9100, • Maintaining AS9100 registration, • Serves as the primary escort for audits., • Develops, executes, implements, and evaluates the effectiveness of corrective actions resulting from audits., • Maintaining Nadcap NDT and Chemical Processing accreditations, • Serves as the primary escort for audits., • Develops, executes, implements, and evaluates the effectiveness of corrective actions resulting from audits., • Maintaining FAA Repair Station registration, • Serves as the secondary “Accountable Manager” on behalf of the President., • Participates in the implementation, reviews and approves corrective actions resulting from audits., • Acts as the primary point of contact and preparation of customer audits., • With direct support from top management, implements the strategic plans for Quality Management that include actions needed for or related to:, • Creating a “Quality First” work force, • Customer Focus, • The integration of the QMS requirements into company processes (“on the floor”, software, etc.), • The effectiveness of the QMS and its processes, • Quality Policy, Quality Objectives, and KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators), • Risks and Opportunities, • Monitoring, measuring, analyzing, and evaluating data IAW QMS requirements., • Eliminate /risk mitigation of repeat product nonconformities., • The maintenance of production support processes, as it relates to the QMS, including but not limited to: document control, record control, customer approvals, outside vendors/suppliers/purchasing, corrective action, non-conforming material, employee training, calibration, contract review, planning, and internal auditing., • Interface and support NDT Department, • The communication, timeliness, and resolution of customer inquiries/requests related to the activities carried out within the Quality Department, • On-boarding and training of direct reports, • The over-sight of the on-boarding and training process of all Quality Department personnel., • The support needed for the on-boarding and training process of all employees as requested by management (“Quality First” work force), • Excellent customer service and resolution skills, • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, professional), • Previous quality management experience, • Advanced computer skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, • Application of ISO9001 or AS9100 requirements, • Experience working in a high demand, fast paced, multi-responsibility environment., • Strong problem solving skills., • Familiar with blueprint reading and interpretation., • Technical reading and writing skills (aerospace specifications and procedures), • Development of visual work instruction documentation, • Development of training materials and presentations, • Internal auditing, • Application of the Root Cause Corrective action process, • Strong project management and implementation skills, • Team building and conflict resolution skills., • Time management and organization skills, • Ability to work as a team and independently., • Requires minimal supervision and practices self-accountability., • Possess an elevated level of personal integrity, accountability, and it respectful by nature., • Possess a personal commitment to collaborate with a team to deliver a quality product and service., • Seeks out to continuously improve systems, processes, and the people around them., • Strong understanding of DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) process and PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) process., • Current state and future state Value Stream Mapping and time studies, • Graphical data analysis: histograms, pareto charts, pie charts, run charts, control charts, correlation analysis., • Statistical data analysis: regression analysis, ANOVA, DOE, Process Capability (cpK), • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), • Project Planning creation and development, • Nadcap Chemical Processing quality requirements, • Excel skills include pivot tables, pareto charts, line charts, and pie charts., • Application of all AS9100 and aerospace customer requirements, • Application of all Nadcap Chemical Processing requirements, • Internal auditing (AS9100, Nadcap requirements), • Previous experience implementing quality management systems and processes (AS9100, Nadcap, etc.), • Previous experience with obtaining approvals for major aerospace primes., • Previous experience with technical plan development for obtaining approvals for major aerospace primes., • Prior experience interpreting acceptance criteria and testing results., • Expert of corrective action development, execution, implementation, and sustainment (Nadcap RCCA, 8-D), • Advanced/expert project management skills (project planning, execution, implementation, and sustainment), • Understanding of the entire manufacturing process, • The ability to mentor, coach, and train other individuals with varying backgrounds (degreed and non-degreed) Education / Work Experience A Plus: • 3+ years experience in the aerospace industry, • 3+ years quality management and/or machine shop manufacturing management experience, • 2+ years
