American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in New Haven, Connecticut. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/09/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Work in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at a Level I Trauma Center, • Average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2, • Pediatric patient population, including cardiac critical care cases, • Use of Epic EMR is required, • Day shift, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00, • Every other weekend shift required, • No on-call responsibilities, • Must float to other pediatric units within scope, including Pediatric ED, NNICU, inpatient pediatric departments, and pediatric psych unit as needed, • Expected to provide care for a variety of critically ill pediatric patients, including those requiring advanced interventions, • Must be comfortable floating and taking assignments in different pediatric units as needed, • Block scheduling requests cannot be accommodated, • RTO up to 7 days is auto-approved; requests for more than 7 days require facility approval, • First time travelers are welcome to apply, • No local candidates within a 75-mile radius are accepted except for certain tech roles, • Travelers are obligated to participate in any natural disaster or emergency response activities\n \n Requirements\n, • Active CT or compact RN license required or pending at time of consideration, • Minimum 3 years of recent PICU RN experience, • PALS and BLS certifications required, • Experience with CRRT and ECMO preferred, • Previous trauma center experience at a large facility required, • No prior disciplinary action on nursing license, • Flu vaccine required; declinations not accepted, • COVID-19 vaccine and booster required, with only religious or medical exemptions accepted, • Returning employees must have been separated for at least 2 years\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
