American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Indianapolis, Indiana. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 03/09/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Position is in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting, • Unit consists of 32 beds: 15 PCU and 17 MedSurg, • Primary patient population includes cardiac medical, pulmonary (COPD, CHF, fibrosis), valve replacement, lung transplant (pre and post), trach-to-vent cases, neurodegenerative conditions, and select infectious diseases such as flu, TB, and COVID-19, • PCU nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4; MedSurg is 1:5-6, • Shifts are nights, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30), • Travelers are required to work every other weekend and may be scheduled for consecutive weekends based on need, • Floating expected within different levels of care (MedSurg, PCU, ICU) and to affiliate hospitals, • Cerner EMR is required, • Charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned as needed with training provided, • Nurses may be required to precept or have students shadow during assignment, • Candidates must be prepared to manage both PCU and MedSurg patients in mixed assignments based on staffing, • All travelers will float within the hospital and to affiliate facilities as needed, • First-time travelers are accepted for this position, • Candidates must work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignment, • Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) may be auto-approved\n \n Requirements\n, • Active IN or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration, • Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA or RQI accepted), • Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program, • Minimum 18 months to 2 years of PCU or equivalent experience required, • Experience with Cerner charting required, • MedSurg RNs considered if also experienced with ICU and PCU patients for at least two additional years, • COVID vaccine required unless an approved medical or religious exemption is provided, • Local candidates are not accepted for this unit, • Former permanent or PRN employees must have a 12-month separation before being eligible as a traveler\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
