CVOR RNs collaborate with surgical teams, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality care for patients undergoing cardiovascular surgeries. \n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n • Provide specialized perioperative care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures, including open-heart surgeries, coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG), valve replacements, and other complex cardiac procedures.\n, • Prepare and maintain the operating room environment, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.\n, • Administer medications and anesthetics as prescribed by the surgical team, ensuring patient safety and hemodynamic stability.\n, • Assist the surgical team with intraoperative monitoring, ensuring the patient’s vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and hemodynamic status are managed effectively.\n, • Collaborate with surgical teams, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals, to implement individualized patient care plans.\n, • Provide post-operative care, including managing chest tubes, wound care, and monitoring for complications such as arrhythmias, infections, or bleeding.\n, • Monitor and troubleshoot mechanical cardiac support devices, such as intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), ventricular assist devices (VADs), or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).\n, • Educate patients and their families on pre-operative and post-operative care, as well as medications and discharge planning.\n, • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, surgical procedures, and outcomes.\n, • Assist with inventory management, ensuring all surgical supplies and equipment are properly maintained and stocked.\n, • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with surgical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.\n\n\nQualifications:\n\n, • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.\n, • Licensure:\n\n, • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.\n\n\n, • Certification:\n\n, • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.\n, • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.\n
