American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in High Point, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 05/11/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: May 11, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Work setting is an Acute Definitive Telemetry Unit (ADTU) within a 351-licensed-bed teaching hospital that is also a designated Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center, • Common patient diagnoses include CHF, syncope, chest pain, COPD, and pneumonia, • RN-to-patient ratio is 1:6, with CNA support also at a 1:6 ratio, • EMR is Epic; experience preferred, • Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors, • 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, 36 hours per week, • Scheduling follows a 6-week time track cycle, • Every other weekend rotation required, • Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays, • No on-call or call-back requirements, • Minimal floating required; may float to a medical/surgical unit if neededRequirements, • Active NC or Compact RN license currently in hand, • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), • Minimum 2 years of med/surg experience required, with most recent experience within the last year, • Proficiency in chest tube management, stroke signs and symptoms recognition, cardiac rhythm interpretation, NGT placement, and IV drip management, • 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, • Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for considerationAdditional Information, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply, • Department support includes a charge nurse, CNA (at times), phlebotomy, resource nurse, respiratory therapy 24/7, hospitalist 24/7, intensivist (as needed), and telemetry monitoring technician, • Orientation includes general new employee orientation (NEO) plus 2 days of departmental orientation, • RTO requests require Resource Team approval, • Royal blue scrubs required, • Free, on-campus parking is available, • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
