Job DescriptionJob Title: Saw OperatorJob Description The Saw Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient setup and operation of various metal cutting saws to cut materials according to work orders. This role may be performed independently or as part of a team, requiring adherence to all company policies and safety procedures. Responsibilities • Operate overhead and/or wall walker crane using remote or pendant controls., • Secure rigging devices such as chains, straps, hooks, and magnets for lifting materials., • Transport materials using cranes or material handling equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks., • Perform safety inspections and complete applicable checklists., • Set up and operate saws to cut materials as per specifications and observe multiple saws as needed., • Use hand tools to measure and verify material dimensions and quality., • Utilize computer systems for documentation, labeling, scanning, and printing., • Use grinders and sanders to remove burrs and rough edges., • Label and package products for shipping using appropriate materials and banding equipment., • Perform maintenance tasks such as changing saw blades, propane tanks, and sideloader batteries., • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by sweeping shavings and clearing debris., • Participate in safety, quality, and job training sessions.Essential Skills, • Experience in assembly, saw operation, and as a saw operator., • Knowledge of metal and machine operations., • Understanding mechanical processes, including laser and blueprint reading., • Skills in deburring, drill press operation, bandsaw, and carpentry.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • High school diploma or equivalent required., • Experience operating metal cutting saws or similar equipment preferred., • Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and measuring tools., • Basic math and computer skills., • Strong attention to detail and safety practices., • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
