Associate Instructors do not have grading responsibilities. ** The Courses** Instructors will be placed depending on their self-reported proficiency and demo lesson. The math courses offered at SEO include: - 9th Math: Numbers and Operations, Graphs and Relationships, and Algebra/Pattern and Structure Courses Skills include: properties of numbers; expressions, equations, and identities; ratio and rate; percentages; proportional reasoning; irrational numbers; linear, quadratic, and exponential functions (including compound growth formula); algebraic representation of functions; graphing functions and identifying key characteristics; modeling real-world situations with functions; systems of equations and inequalities; algebra with exponents; fractional exponents and roots; algebra with rational expressions and equations; properties 2D and 3D geometric figures; introduction to coordinate geometry. - 10th Math: Trigonometry, Precalculus, and SAT Math Courses Skills include: triangle geometry and special triangles; trigonometric functions; inverse trig functions; radian measure; the unit circle; graphing and modeling with sine and cosine functions; unit analysis; function notation, including function composition and inverse functions; characteristics of graphs; transformations of graphs; average rate of change; introduction to limits; introduction to the derivative and the power rule; and content covered on the new digital SAT. ** The Sites** Saturday Academy takes place at one of our partner sites through the semester where the instructor will be placed based on the grade level they are assigned: - 9th Grade: Baruch College, (Vertical Campus Building, 55 Lexington Ave., New York). - 10th Grade: LIU Brooklyn, (1 University Plaza, Brooklyn).
