Job Description Job Title: Packaging/Labeling Associate – Day Shift (7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.) Job Description This hands-on role focuses on preparing, handling, and packaging products on small and large bottling lines in a clean, fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will work closely with a close-knit team to fill, label, and contain products according to strict safety, quality, and ISO9001 guidelines. The position combines clean room work, packaging and labeling activities, basic computer data entry, and the operation of semi-automated and manual filling equipment, all while following detailed standard operating procedures and hazardous materials handling protocols. Responsibilities • Prepare, handle, and contain products for filling and packaging according to established standard operating procedures (SOPs)., • Operate an assortment of semi-automated and manual filling equipment on small and large bottling lines., • Operate industrial equipment such as fork trucks, pallet jacks, and similar material handling equipment as needed., • Work in clean room environments wearing appropriate scrubs, hair nets, gloves, and safety footwear while handling products., • Perform packaging and labeling activities, including applying labels and using labeling machines when required., • Input basic information into the computer system to support production, labeling, and documentation processes., • Complete all required manufacturing documentation accurately and thoroughly under ISO9001 guidelines., • Assist the department by staging raw materials, cleaning laboratory hardware, and off-loading automated filling lines., • Support the department with general production, packaging, and warehouse tasks as needed in a fast-paced environment., • Follow detailed SOPs and specific guidelines when working with hazardous products, including flammable solvents, strong acids and bases, potential biohazards, large scale bacterial cultures, and other hazardous chemicals., • Participate in shadowing and on-the-job training for approximately one month, gradually taking on more responsibility as skills and knowledge increase., • Maintain high attention to detail to ensure accurate filling, labeling, and documentation while processing multiple responsibilities simultaneously., • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when required., • Perform frequent standing and walking throughout the shift while working on production and packaging lines., • Lift and move materials, regularly up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds, using team lifts for items over 25 pounds., • Generate or manage hazardous waste in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures, including proper identification, handling, recycling, treatment, disposal, record keeping, and pollution prevention., • Participate in initial hazardous waste training within the first 30 working days and complete annual refresher training on hazardous waste topics., • Carry out picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and cycle count activities in support of production and warehouse operations., • Use warehouse tools and technology such as RF scanners and metric scales to support accurate inventory and packaging processes., • Communicate effectively with team members and leadership using clear verbal and written communication to support a respectful, drama-free, and collaborative environment. Essential Skills • High school diploma or GED required., • Ability to work effectively in an extremely fast-paced environment while processing multiple responsibilities simultaneously., • Good verbal and written communication skills., • Basic knowledge of the metric system and ability to work with metric scales., • Basic computer knowledge and comfort with entering data into production or labeling systems., • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as scrubs, hair nets, gloves, and safety footwear when required., • A minimum of 6 months of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred., • Comfort working frequently with organics, including flammable solvents, strong acids and bases, potential biohazards (including raw animal serums), large scale bacterial cultures, and hazardous chemicals., • Ability to stand and walk constantly throughout the shift., • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds, using team lifts for heavier items., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following SOPs and safety guidelines., • Reliability and ability to take direction well., • Hands-on aptitude for manufacturing, warehouse, or production work. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in warehouse operations, including picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and cycle counts., • Previous experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other line work machinery., • Experience using RF scanners and working with metric scales in a production or warehouse environment., • Background in packaging, labeling, and line work in manufacturing or distribution settings., • Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude., • Ability to contribute to a respectful, drama-free workplace and build positive relationships within a family-like team culture. Work Environment The role is based in a state-of-the-art, temperature-controlled facility where most work areas are kept comfortable and well lit. There is a refrigerated area used occasionally for picking select items, but you will not spend excessive time there. The production environment is clean, organized, and focused on safety and quality, with extensive use of SOPs and ISO9001-compliant documentation. You will work on small and large bottling lines, operate semi-automated and manual filling equipment, and use warehouse tools such as pallet jacks, RF scanners, and metric scales. Clean room work requires wearing scrubs, hair nets, gloves, and steel-toe or composite-toe shoes or boots; scrubs, gloves, and hairnets are provided daily, and safety footwear is required in production and packaging areas.
