Job DescriptionJob Title: Journeyman ElectricianJob Description As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for installing electrical systems, including conduit, wiring, lighting, devices, panels, controls, and associated equipment on commercial and residential projects. You will read and interpret electrical blueprints, specifications, drawings, and schematics to perform work accurately and efficiently. Your role will involve troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical systems, components, and equipment while ensuring compliance with NEC standards, local codes, and company safety requirements. Responsibilities • Install electrical systems including conduit, wiring, lighting, devices, panels, controls, and associated equipment., • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, specifications, drawings, and schematics., • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, components, and equipment., • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with NEC standards, local codes, and company safety requirements., • Coordinate daily work activities with project managers, foremen, contractors, subcontractors, and customers., • Maintain tools, equipment, company assets, and organized work areas., • Mentor and support apprentices through hands-on training and guidance., • Complete work orders, project documentation, inspections, and reports accurately and on time., • Promote a safe work environment by following OSHA guidelines and company safety procedures.Essential Skills, • Active Iowa Class A Journeyman Electrician License required., • Minimum 3+ years of electrical experience, preferably within commercial construction environments., • Experience installing conduit, wire, panels, breakers, lighting systems, receptacles, switches, and electrical devices., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, specifications, and construction drawings., • Strong understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC), local building codes, and electrical safety regulations., • Proven troubleshooting skills related to power distribution, controls, lighting systems, and electrical equipment.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation., • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision., • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment., • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical work in varying construction site conditions., • Strong communication skills with field personnel, customers, and project stakeholders., • Commitment to quality workmanship and job site safety.Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Des Moines, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $87360.00/yr.
