We are seeking an experienced Project Manager II to lead complex projects within our Product PMO department, serving as the primary owner from initial costing through execution and completion. This role demands a hands-on leader who excels in traditional project management practices, maximizing profit margins while delivering exceptional service to clients. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in managing multi-faceted projects that blend product delivery (e.g., transformer manufacturing and assembly) and field services (e.g., installation, transportation, and maintenance) in manufacturing or heavy industry environments such as power systems, construction, oil & gas, or utilities. Travel: Up to 10%, including potential visits to our Memphis transformer production facility or customer/project sites. Key Responsibilities: As the central figure in the project team, you will oversee all aspects of project delivery, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations, budgets, and timelines. Responsibilities are divided into key phases: Planning/Bid Phase • Estimate costs for HICO services, collaborating with Procurement to develop accurate, competitive proposals., • Support the review and refinement of final bid packages, ensuring technical and commercial alignment., • Attend project site walks, alliance meetings, and customer consultations to gather requirements and build early relationships. Execution Phase • Act as the single point of contact (POC) for customers, internal stakeholders, suppliers, and subcontractors, fostering strong relationships and clear communication., • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, communicating key milestones to factories, teams, and clients to ensure on-time delivery., • Lead procurement activities for assigned projects, securing timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services while prioritizing quality and cost control., • Coordinate design review meetings between Engineering and customers, resolving issues to maintain project momentum., • Monitor and control project budgets, identifying variances (planned or unplanned) and implementing corrective actions in collaboration with stakeholders., • Oversee scope and budgeting for services including product transportation, on-site assembly, oil processing, and other ancillary support., • Manage subcontractors and field resources to deliver safe, compliant installations and services., • Travel as needed to production facilities, customer locations, or project sites to facilitate progress and address challenges., • Ensure seamless transition to warranty and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) phases, including documentation and handover. Overall Project Ownership • Maximize project profitability through proactive cost management, change order negotiation, and efficiency improvements., • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including budgetary performance, submittal and schedule adherence, customer satisfaction, milestone and progress payments, and warranty/MRO service delivery., • Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and apply lessons learned to enhance future projects., • Maintain high levels of customer perception and satisfaction by delivering reliable, high-quality outcomes in a service-oriented manner. Qualifications and Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field from an accredited university., • 5+ years of hands-on project management experience in manufacturing or heavy industry settings, with a demonstrated ability to handle projects valued at $1M+., • Proven expertise in managing integrated product and service delivery projects, such as those involving equipment fabrication, logistics, installation, and field support., • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for budgeting and reporting, and Microsoft Teams/365 for collaboration., • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, operations, and field services., • Experience in risk assessment, subcontractor management, and financial forecasting., • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. Preferred Experience • Background in transformer manufacturing, power systems, electrical equipment, construction, or similar heavy industries (e.g., utilities, energy infrastructure, manufacturing, oil & gas, construction)., • Track record of leading projects from bid through warranty, emphasizing practical, results-driven approaches., • Familiarity with managing international suppliers or global factory coordination., • Experience in cost estimation, contract negotiation, and enhancing project margins through value engineering.
