Civil Clothing Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Assistant Manager, Merchandising & Planning to support and elevate our growing Darc Sport team in Torrance. In this role, you’ll help plan, coordinate, and execute seasonal assortment strategies across apparel and non-apparel categories. You will support pre-season planning, maintain merchandising calendars, track product progress, recap launch performance, and partner cross-functionally to ensure collections are aligned, organized, and delivered with precision. In this role, you will help ensure that each collection is thoughtfully planned, commercially sound, and aligned with the Darc Sport’s brand vision. Your work will directly influence how our product comes to market and how customers experience Darc Sport across every launch. What You’ll Do Merchandising Planning & Assortment Strategy • Support the development and maintenance of merchandise plans for assigned product categories on a monthly, quarterly, and seasonal basis., • Assist in creating pre-season line plan assortment plans using historical performance, sell-through data, and SKU productivity insights., • Partner with Design and Production to support inventory composition across new launches, re-orders, and core styles., • Contribute to quarterly hindsight recaps to help inform future assortment, inventory, and profitability decisions., • Identify opportunities to optimize product mix based on sell-through trends, performance metrics, and category analysis., • Assist in preparing and distributing weekly, monthly, and quarterly merchandising reports., • Support forecasting efforts and projection updates for assigned categories., • Maintain accurate internal planning tools and tracking documents., • Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, margin trends, and promotional effectiveness to identify opportunities and risks., • Support price adjustments, markdown tracking, and launch performance recaps., • Maintain seasonal brand calendars and key planning timelines to ensure cross-functional alignment., • Track product progress and proactively identify bottlenecks or delays that may impact launches., • Develop and maintain effective working relationships across departments to support smooth planning and execution., • Identify potential inventory or launch risks early and escalate appropriately., • Support additional merchandising and planning initiatives as needed., • Contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and team-oriented environment where diverse perspectives are valued., • Build strong working relationships across departments to support smooth execution and alignment., • Demonstrate professionalism, urgency, and pride in execution, bringing consistency and reliable follow-through. What You Bring Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data, sell-through performance, and forecasting metrics., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills for reporting, projections, and assortment analysis., • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate professionally across cross-functional teams., • Strong time-management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment., • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify gaps and recommend data-informed solutions., • Professional, team-oriented approach with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills. Education & Experience • 2–4+ years of experience in merchandising, planning, inventory management, buying, or a related analytical role., • Experience working in an e-commerce environment; Shopify experience preferred., • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Finance, or a related field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience)., • Experience in streetwear, action sports, or apparel preferred Physical & Mental Demands • This role is primarily office-based with regular use of standard office equipment., • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and move throughout office, showroom, or production environments as needed., • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move materials or product weighing up to 25 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation., • ·Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, with or without reasonable accommodation., • Ability to work in varied environments, including exposure to noise, temperature fluctuations, and occasional outdoor elements., • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and shifting demands in a fast-paced environment., • Capacity to maintain focus, sound judgment, and professional communication while navigating time-sensitive issues., • This role may require flexibility in work hours during peak campaign periods.
