Job Description Job Title: Machine Operator Join our team as a Machine Operator and play a vital role in the manufacturing of specialty plastic compounds. Responsibilities • Determine production requirements by reading and implementing general and special instructions on each sales order., • Review and apply the manufacturing bill of materials to each sales order., • Prepare raw material including drying, pre-blending, and staging requirements., • Prepare machines and equipment for production., • Ensure thorough cleaning of all equipment, including upstream and downstream components, according to work instructions and special instructions on the production schedule., • Set extruder operating parameters according to the master reference set-up sheet., • Prepare production run sheet records., • Optimize operating parameters throughout the production run to achieve maximum extruder performance., • Maintain a clean working environment by removing debris and cleaning work surfaces., • Take immediate action to prevent and correct unsafe operating conditions and/or injury., • Experience in production, machine operation, and extrusion machine handling., • Proficiency in computer data entry and utility operations., • Mechanical inclination and ability to use hand tools., • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operational instructions, and procedure manuals., • High school diploma or equivalent, or 1-3 years related experience or training., • Basic computer skills for machine operation and batching software. Work Environment Work in a smaller, clean manufacturing facility, closely with extrusion operators and the maintenance team. The schedule is Monday to Wednesday, from 5:40 am to 6:00 pm. Expect regular exposure to fumes or airborne particles, occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration, and moderate noise levels. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, talk, hear, and lift up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and color vision. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Las Vegas, NV. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
