What You Will Bring * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. * 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance and embedded systems testing preferably high-complexity, vertically integrated consumer products. * Deep technical domain expertise in Automotive, Software defined vehicles, MCU/ECU architecture, Power & Fault Management, including Safety & Security functions. * Experience working with Connectivity, location services & Mobile platforms across wireless technologies such as Cellular, Wifi or Bluetooth. * Strong understanding and experience working extensively with embedded hardware, bootloader, firmware, debug access utilities using serial interface interfaces such as JTAG, etc. * Experience working with Test management systems, Requirements management and bug tracking tools for Release execution reporting and traceability of validation scope. * Automation experience with tools such as Python based Robotframework or Pytest, Selenium, Appium, Espresso would be a plus. * Strong programming and scripting skills in C/C++ and Python, with experience designing robust automated test pipelines. * Advanced knowledge of CI/CD automation tools and workflows (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar) and use of SIL/HIL environments for validation. * In-depth familiarity with UDS, XCP, and other embedded communication protocols. * Expertise in hardware/software communication protocols and physical layers (I2C, SPI, CAN, CAN-FD, USB-PD, etc.). * Experience working with Automotive sniffer tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, etc. is a plus. * Passion for mentoring, developing and building a quality-first culture in a fast-moving startup environment. The Automated Driving Advanced Development division at TRI will focus on enabling innovation and transformation at Toyota by building a bridge between TRI research and Toyota products, services, and needs. This new division is leading a new cross-organizational project between TRI and Woven by Toyota to conduct research and develop a fully end-to-end learned driving stack. This cross-org collaborative project is harmonious with TRI’s robotics divisions' efforts in Diffusion Policy and Large Behavior Models. We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing team and contribute to the integration and deployment of our automated driving stack on real-world vehicles. As a generalist engineer, you will work across the autonomy system, helping implement features, set up infrastructure, and improve the performance and robustness of our real-time autonomy stack. You’ll work alongside senior engineers and researchers across TRI and Woven, gaining exposure to multiple parts of the system while deepening your expertise in modern robotics and vehicle software.This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong foundation in C++ and Python, an interest in real-world systems, and a desire to grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You'll partner closely with end-to-end machine learning, simulation and infrastructure teams to ensure that the full stack runs robustly on real vehicles in closed-course, public road and simulation testing.
