Job DescriptionJob Title: Facilities Technician Job Description The Facilities Technician ensures that all facility areas remain safe, clean, and fully operational in a regulated medical device manufacturing environment. This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and systems, supports site-wide activities and events, and responds to facility-related issues and emergencies. The Facilities Technician partners closely with third-party vendors and internal teams to maintain a reliable, compliant, and well-organized workspace. Responsibilities • Ensure designated facility areas remain safe, clean, and free of hazards at all times., • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on facility equipment and systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment life., • Conduct maintenance and inspections on safety equipment, including eyewash stations, to ensure proper operation and compliance., • Serve as the first responder for facility-related issues and emergencies, assessing the situation and coordinating appropriate corrective actions., • Monitor and record differential pressure readings in controlled environments, such as CER and HPA, to support regulatory and operational requirements., • Inspect rooftop equipment and utility systems regularly to verify proper operation and identify potential issues., • Handle the removal and proper disposal of hazardous waste from designated areas in accordance with safety and regulatory guidelines., • Assist the facilities team with installation, setup, and operational commissioning of equipment and furnishings., • Support site-wide activities and events, including trainings, meetings, and company events, by preparing spaces and ensuring facility readiness., • Maintain cleanliness and organization of facility areas throughout production and business hours, including common spaces and work areas., • Partner with third-party vendors and service providers to coordinate maintenance, repairs, and facility support services., • Troubleshoot and repair facility-related issues involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems., • Support the movement, installation, and setup of equipment and furnishings as operations evolve., • Participate in required safety and operational training programs and follow all established procedures and protocols.Essential Skills, • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on facilities maintenance experience., • Proven experience with troubleshooting and repair of facility systems and equipment., • Hands-on troubleshooting and repair experience with electrical systems., • Hands-on troubleshooting and repair experience with plumbing systems, including automatic flushmeters., • Experience working with HVAC systems in a facilities or building maintenance setting., • Demonstrated ability to perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment and building systems., • Experience coordinating and working with outside vendors and service providers., • Background in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or general maintenance environments., • Ability to respond promptly to facility-related issues and emergencies and prioritize tasks effectively., • Strong attention to detail in documenting inspections, readings, and maintenance activities.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in cleanroom, laboratory, or other regulated environments is a plus., • Experience with air compressors and regulated facility systems is preferred., • Candidates with apartment maintenance or general/building facilities maintenance experience are highly encouraged to apply., • Familiarity with medical device or FDA-regulated environments is beneficial., • Comfort working in a highly regulated, procedure-driven environment., • Strong communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external vendors., • Ability to support occasional Saturday work when operational needs require it.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role operates within a medical device manufacturing environment that includes FDA-regulated cleanroom areas and controlled environments such as CER and HPA. Work is performed primarily on-site, with a standard shift of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays as needed based on operational requirements. The position involves regular movement throughout the facility, including production floors, rooftop areas for equipment inspections, and controlled rooms where differential pressures are monitored. You will work around manufacturing equipment, facility utility systems, HVAC units, air compressors, and other building systems while following strict safety and cleanliness standards appropriate for a cleanroom-focused operation. The work environment emphasizes adherence to established procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines to maintain a clean, organized, and compliant facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Clara, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
