Job Description FME Studios, Inc. Indianapolis, IN Position Summary FME Studios is seeking an experienced, highly creative, and strategically minded Lead Video Editor to lead post-production across a wide range of commercial, branded, documentary, and digital content projects. This is a senior-level creative leadership role responsible for overseeing editorial quality, storytelling execution, post-production workflows, and collaboration between internal teams, clients, and external vendors. The ideal candidate combines exceptional editing instincts with strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities. The Lead Video Editor will play a key role in shaping the creative output of FME Studios while helping build scalable systems and processes that support a growing production environment. Key Responsibilities Editorial & Creative Leadership • Lead the editorial process from ingest through final delivery, • Craft compelling visual stories with strong pacing, structure, emotion, and clarity, • Edit commercial, branded, documentary, social, and corporate content across multiple formats and platforms, • Collaborate with directors, producers, creative leads, and clients to execute creative vision, • Guide overall visual tone, rhythm, and storytelling direction during post-production, • Ensure creative consistency and quality across all deliverables Post-Production Management • Oversee post-production schedules, workflows, timelines, and project organization, • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high creative standards, • Coordinate with external vendors including:, • Colorists, • Sound designers and mixers, • Motion graphic artists, • Music composers, • Finishing and delivery partners, • Review deliverables for quality control and technical accuracy, • Integrate motion graphics, typography, animation, and branded visual systems into edits, • Collaborate with internal and freelance designers to elevate visual storytelling, • Contribute to creative direction regarding graphics, transitions, and visual polish, • Participate in client meetings, edit reviews, and creative presentations, • Communicate clearly and professionally regarding creative direction, revisions, and timelines, • Interpret feedback strategically and implement revisions effectively, • Mentor junior editors, freelancers, and post-production collaborators, • Help foster a collaborative, efficient, and solutions-oriented post-production culture, • Provide guidance on editorial standards, workflows, organization, and creative execution, • Support ongoing growth and evolution of the post-production department Qualifications Required • 5+ years of professional video editing experience in commercial, agency, production, or branded content environments, • Advanced proficiency in:, • Adobe Premiere Pro, • Adobe After Effects, • Adobe Creative Suite, • Strong storytelling and narrative development skills, • Experience integrating motion graphics and visual design into edits, • Strong understanding of:, • Sound design, • Music editing, • Color workflows, • Social and broadcast deliverables, • Modern post-production pipelines, • Excellent organizational and project management skills, • Strong communication and client-facing abilities, • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and fast-paced workflows, • Strong creative instincts and attention to detail Preferred • Experience leading post-production teams or departments, • Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve workflows, • Experience with Frame.io or collaborative review platforms, • Understanding of AI-assisted creative and post-production tools, • Experience in commercial advertising, documentary storytelling, or branded campaigns, • Knowledge of production workflows and on-set collaboration Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is: • Highly creative and visually sophisticated, • A strong storyteller with excellent editorial judgment, • Organized, proactive, and solutions-oriented, • Comfortable leading projects and creative conversations, • Able to balance artistic quality with efficiency and deadlines, • Interested in helping shape the future of a growing creative studio, • Collaborative, adaptable, and detail-focused Compensation & Benefits • Salary range: $60,000–$75,000, based on experience and qualifications, • Paid Time Off (PTO), • Flexible, collaborative creative environment, • Opportunity to work on high-profile commercial and branded projects To Apply Please submit: • Resume, • Portfolio/Reel, • Examples of work you personally edited, • Brief introduction outlining your experience and creative approach Applicants with strong storytelling ability, leadership experience, and high-end creative sensibilities are encouraged to apply.
