Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ED - Emergency Department, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 10/07/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Job Description: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (ER) Location: Greensboro, NC 27401 Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Schedule Type: Self-scheduling Weekend Coverage: Every third weekend (2 weekend shifts or 4 weekend days per 6 weeks) Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality nursing care in the Emergency Department (ED) at a Level II Trauma Center. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Emergency Nursing, with preference for charge nurse and trauma experience. This role requires proficiency with Epic charting and the ability to work independently during night shifts in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver patient-centered care in the Emergency Department with patient ratios ranging from 1:4 to 1:5, depending on staffing and patient volume., • Manage complex emergency cases including trauma, stroke, cardiac emergencies, and pediatric injuries., • Provide IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, and blood product administration., • Administer medications including continuous IV sedation, vasopressors, and procedural sedation., • Monitor and interpret vital signs, cardiac rhythms, ABGs, and neurological assessments., • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services., • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including infection control and isolation precautions., • Participate in ongoing education and competency testing, including a mandatory EKG pass/fail exam., • Adhere to strict attendance policies including zero tolerance for tardiness and unexcused absences.Qualifications:, • Current Registered Nurse license with at least 2 years of Emergency Department experience required., • Previous Charge Nurse experience preferred., • Trauma Level II experience preferred., • Epic electronic medical record system experience required., • Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS., • Preferred Certifications: CPI, PALS, TNCC., • Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias and trauma care., • Strong communication and triage skills., • Willingness to float to any Cone Health campus as needed., • Must pass a background check with no open cases.
