Job Description Department: Office of Medical Affairs Reports To: Chief of Medical Affairs Location: Dallas, Texas – ABOG National Center for Certification and Continuing Education (Uptown); Hybrid Work environment with expectation for 60% in office. Meeting Travel Required (up to 10%) as needed. FLSA Status: Exempt SUMMARY: The OMA and CBME Director at ABOG serves a key role under the leadership of the Chief of Medical Affairs (COMA). This individual is responsible for driving the implementation of Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) as well as providing operational oversight, personnel management, and advancement of strategic priorities of the Office of Medical Affairs (OMA). This role requires healthcare leadership experience, cross-functional collaboration, and proven ability to lead operational initiatives in complex, regulated environments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: CBME Program Implementation • Lead the operational design and phased implementation of CBME initiatives, with a focus on OB-GYN., • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., CBME Steering Committee, ABOG Departments, BOD) and external partners (e.g., specialty societies, accrediting bodies, GME community) to ensure alignment and compliance., • Lead and manage OMA staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional growth., • Provide coaching, performance assessments, and support professional development aligned with organizational needs., • Collaborate with COMA and other senior leaders to develop presentations and materials that communicate progress, outcomes, and strategic direction of ABOGs initiatives., • Produce high-quality written reports, proposals, and communications for internal and external stakeholders., • Demonstrable Proficiency: Candidates may be required to demonstrate proficiency in essential skills during the interview process (e.g., work samples, analysis exercise, and communication brief)., • Demonstrated expertise in operational leadership of graduate medical education (GME), healthcare, or academic programs., • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, education or a related field strongly preferred., • 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, graduate medical education, medical staff processes, and/or academic medicine preferred., • Proven success leading teams and operational functions, preferably in a matrixed or cross-functional healthcare environment., • Strong operational acumen with experience managing complex operations that require cross-functional collaboration., • Excellent people management skills, with experience building high-performing teams., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence and engage diverse audiences., • Analytical and conceptual thinking skills and the ability to clearly communicate analysis and ideas., • Ability to work with and interpret data to make and justify decisions., • Proficient in project management, change management, and process improvement methodologies., • Deep understanding of assessment of health professionals and/or health professions learners., • Deep understanding of regulatory and accreditation processes and requirements., • Experience working directly with physicians and staff. WORKING CONDITIONS Typical professional office/administrative environment with low noise levels; hybrid schedule with 60% in-office presence (role-specific positions that align with the nature of their work) and periodic travel for meetings/conferences.
