Job DescriptionSalary: JOB DESCRIPTION: The role of the Mental Health and Recovery Services Manager is multifaceted and integral to the effective delivery of mental health and recovery services. This position involves the coordination and management of mental health and recovery programs, ensuring they meet clinical standards and address the needs of the community. As a leader and advocate, the Mental Health and Recovery Manager must possess a deep understanding of mental health issues, chemical dependency and strong organizational skills. The goal is to provide high-quality, accessible, and comprehensive care, thus improving the mental well-being of individuals and communities. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Develop and implement mental health programs and services., • Oversee the daily operations of mental health services/recovery services., • Oversight and supervision of direct reports as assigned., • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards., • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs and services., • Prepare and present program reports and proposals., • Coordinates and acts as liaison between assigned program areas, other management, and State/County agencies., • Collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders., • Participate in case conferences and team meetings to review individual needs and service planning, • Assists with the program unit's budget, staffing and resource needs, and administrative procedures which involve researching and analyzing a variety of factors related to decision making processes such as client needs., • Acts as liaison and major resource person for assigned program areas and the community, other agencies/organizations., • Provide direct clinical services when necessary., • Facilitate training and professional development for staff., • Advocate for mental health resources and funding., • Implement best practices and evidence-based treatment methods., • Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in services., • Provides mentorship to direct reports and others as well as accountability, address any problem that direct reports may have and follow OVP disciplinary action if necessary., • Conducts assessments as part of the individual treatment plan., • Conducts group counseling/supportive group sessions as assigned., • Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand the client's needs, mental health and substance use history., • Implements or revises patient treatment plans with the patient as required per state regulation and record a review of the patients progress., • Develops within (10) days of entry or as required by state guidelines, whichever is more stringent, a formal treatment plan documenting patient goals and update utilizing the same guidelines., • Maintains patient records that are complete, comprehensive and well organized., • Holds a basic understanding of alcohol/drug abuse and addiction. Additionally, keep up-dated on current mental health and drug abuse and treatment information., • Other duties may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other related mental health field, Masters Degree preferred., • Obtain and maintain a validlicense of LSW, LISW, LPC or LPCC required., • Meet specific experience requirements, including supervised work hours in the field of mental health and chemical dependency counseling, required., • CPR/BLS certification, • LICDC, LCDC III preferred., • A minimum of 5 years clinical experience and supervising with familiarity working in substance abuse treatment/mental health treatment preferred. REQUIRED SKILLS OR ABILITIES: Required Skills for this position include but are not limited to: • The principles, practices and techniques of psychotherapy and psychiatric casework and/or substance abuse treatment., • Social aspects, attitudes, characteristics and behaviors of mental illness and emotional disturbances and/or substance abuse., • The principles and practices of planning, organizing and supervising community mental health and/or substance abuse programs., • Current developments in the field of community mental health and/or substance abuse., • Community resources available to mental health and/or substance abuse programs., • Cultural, socio-economic and language factors that affect service delivery to ethnic population, as assigned., • Laws and regulations as they relate to clients' legal rights., • Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills., • Possess a strong understanding of substance use disorders, treatment modalities, and ethical guidelines., • Ability to interact with a multi-disciplinary team to assist in facets of the recovery program relating to physical health., • Ability to coach, engage and mentor staff., • Functional and situational reasoning ability to gather and apply factual information, exercise sound judgment, problem solve and apply principles of influence systems such as motivation, team building, accountability, coaching/counseling of staff and leadership within the scope of the position, • Have the ability to communicate effectively with all members of the treatment team to ensure the safety of the client., • Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which is related to work as a member of an addiction treatment team., • Attention to detail and organization., • Computer literate with experience in a Windows environment., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision., • Ability to prioritize work and work-related responsibilities., • Excellent observation skills, • Customer/Client Focus, • Stress Management/Composure SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: • There are direct reports in this position PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical demands described are representative of those that must be routinely met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this position.
