Greater Binghamton Health Center (GBHC), a Joint Commission accredited Office of Mental Health (OMH) facility is recruiting a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for their 13-bed child and adolescent inpatient unit located in Binghamton, New York. This unit provides short term acute psychiatric care to individuals ages 5-17. Reporting Relationships: • Reports to the lead teacher on all matters regarding staff, children, parents, or program., • Reports to the lead teacher regarding any issues concerning lesson plans and implementation of curriculum., • Reports to the Director or Assistant Director on any matters requiring further assistance., • Must provide High School diploma and documented experience working with young children in a formal or informal setting., • Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children., • Ability to pick up a child weighing up to 40 pounds., • Evidence of emotional maturity and stability., • Ability to handle crisis situations., • Physical stamina, • Ability to maintain and keep appropriate records and files., • Must be 18 years or older, • Possess or be willing to obtain certification in Pediatric First Aid and Personal Safety and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
