Job DescriptionPrimary Job Title: Phlebotomist Patient Services RepresentativeAlternate/Related Job Titles: • Phlebotomy Technician, • Patient Services Technician, • Position Type: Contract, • Contract Duration: 3 months, • Start: As Soon As Possible, • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PMJob Summary:The Patient Services Representative (PSR II) serves as the frontline representative for patient-facing laboratory services. This role performs high-quality phlebotomy, specimen preparation, patient interaction, and daily operational tasks while ensuring accuracy, safety, and professionalism in a fast-paced environment. The PSR II may support multiple locations based on business needs and must demonstrate strong customer service and adherence to clinical procedures.Key Responsibilities:, • Create a welcoming, professional atmosphere for patients seeking routine or diagnostic testing., • Collect quality blood samples using clinical and forensic collection techniques., • Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing following established protocols., • Explain procedures clearly to patients, building trust and maintaining comfort., • Verify patient demographics and obtain post-venipuncture signatures to confirm labeling accuracy., • Maintain a safe and professional work environment., • Complete daily tasks accurately and on time under the direction of the Area Supervisor., • Maintain required records, documentation, and compliance standards., • Promote a positive organizational image to patients, employees, and the public., • Work independently with minimal onsite supervision., • Provide flexible support to multiple Patient Service Center and In-Office Phlebotomy locations., • Adhere to all company dress code, safety, and quality guidelines., • Communicate with transparency to supervisors, patients, and peers., • Support training activities at varying locations as needed.Required Experience:, • 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections, • Ability to work independently and provide accurate, error-free work, • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (rideshare/bus not acceptable), • Ability to manage high-volume workloads and multiple priorities, • Availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed, • Strong verbal and written communication skillsNice-to-Have Experience:, • 2+ years of experience in a Patient Service Center, • Customer service experience in retail or service industry, • Keyboarding/data entry experience, • Medical assistant or paramedic trainingRequired Skills:, • Excellent phlebotomy skills (pediatric, geriatric, capillary), • Strong customer service abilities, • Ability to work independently, • Ability to multitask in high-volume settingsPreferred Skills:, • Phlebotomy certification (preferred; not required in NM), • Knowledge of specimen collection workflows, • Experience supporting multiple clinical locationsAdditional Skills:, • Ability to make sound decisions based on procedures, • Ability to embrace change and communicate transparently, • Understanding of business operations and clinical guidelines We are a Native American-owned, economically disadvantaged corporation that highly values diverse and inclusive workplaces.
