Job Description To support substantial client care needs in Northwest Ohio, we are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and professional Home Healthcare Aides to join our agency in a part-time capacity (20-30 hrs/wk) to provide services to existing and new clients in Toledo, OH and surrounding metro communities (including Sylvania, Ottawa Hills, Holland, Maumee, etc). See if this role fits your skills, schedule, and career goals: • Approx. 20+ hours per week (M-F) available immediately, with additional hours immediately available in evenings and weekends (if desired; not required)., • After successfully completing your first 30 days with our agency, you have the option to add additional clients for up to 40 hours per week (not required)., • Home Health, Caregiver, and/or equivalent LTC / Housekeeping / Homemaker skills required., • DSPs, CNAs and STNAs with home care experience are highly desirable, but experienced, non-certified HHAs, PCAs and professional Caregivers committed to building their career with our agency are encouraged to apply!, • Typical travel distance between clients is 5-30 minutes, with additional cases at 30-60 minutes distance if willing. Mileage is reimbursed for all travel between clients. Starting Pay Rate: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour • Starting hourly rate is based on experience, certifications and credentials (CHHA, DSP, CNA, STNA), positive employment history & attendance, client coverage, and overall fit. JOB SUMMARY A successful Home Healthcare Aide provides personal care services under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Therapist in their region. You will be assigned to specific clients by the Registered Nurse or other appropriate professionals and perform services for clients as necessary to maintain personal comfort and safety in their home. Report to: RN Case Manager/Administrator QUALIFICATIONS: • Successful completion of a formal certification training program (CNA, STNA, HHA) and/or a written skills test and competency evaluation., • 1+ years of paid home health or Independent Provider experience is highly preferred., • Meet the training and/or certification requirements of the state in which the home health aide services are being provided. This includes specifications of contracted agencies for which services are being provided., • CPR and First Aide Certifications required (or can be obtained prior to hire date through our agency or accredited third parties)., • Strong attendance and dependability track record with previous employers., • Good interpersonal skills and compassion for helping others live their best lives are required., • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and follow a written Plan of Care., • Desirable character traits: reliable, honest beyond reproach, professional, compassionate, detail-oriented (in care + documentation), accountable, friendly and accommodating, respectful., • Be at lease eighteen (18) years of age., • High school diploma or GED., • Current driver's license or State ID, and reliable transportation are required., • Willingness and ability to pass a background check. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Performs simple procedures as an extension of therapy services under the direction and supervision of the therapist. • Range of motion exercises, • Bathing, • Shampooing, • Skin care/nail care, • Oral hygiene, • Shaving, • Meal preparation/feeding, • Laundry, • Light Housekeeping, • Assists the patient in taking medications under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. This includes opening a container or pill caddy & handing it to the patient, but does not include administration of the medications., • Knows and follows infection control policies, including proper handwashing techniques., • Reports any observed or reported changes in the client's condition and/or needs to the Registered Nurse., • Documents care provided and completes the forms required for the client's records. Completes the appropriate records to document cares given and pertinent observations., • Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients by observing infection control practices, following agency guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations to the Supervisor/Case Manager., • Demonstrates safe practice in the use of equipment. Does not use equipment until orientation has been provided. Notifies supervisor of educational needs., • Communicates effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team through verbal reports, participation in staff meetings, and team conferences, as requested., • Treats patients and families with respect. Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job., • Accepts and fulfills assignments with the agency. Exercise good judgment in accepting assignments., • Participates in required in-service programs to meet compliance requirements.
