Job DescriptionDescription: SeamonWhiteside is looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our growing Innovations team as a Geographic Information Systems Developer in our Mount Pleasant, South Carolina office. This position will focus on the design, drafting and implementation of various GIS tools tp help aid our internal teams as well as our clients. The successful candidate will be able to work closely with civil engineers, landscape architects, surveyors and water resources personnel to better understand their needs within this software and make data more accessible for our clients. Requirements: Essential Job Functions • Work within the Technology & Innovation team to design, develop, and maintain custom GIS tools that enhance internal civil engineering and landscape architecture workflows., • Provide technical GIS support, training, and innovation to GIS users across the company., • Collaborate with the Water Resources Department on client-facing GIS projects, including hydrologic, hydraulic, and environmental analysis., • Use ArcGIS Pro and the broader ArcGIS suite to perform advanced spatial analysis, data management, and visualization., • Build and deploy custom GIS applications and web maps tailored to both internal and client needs., • Integrate GIS solutions with other engineering and landscape architecture tools and processes., • Plan and conduct drone/UAS flights for data collection, and process and integrate drone imagery into GIS workflows., • Stay current with GIS technology trends and recommend new tools or approaches to enhance our services. Minimum Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a GIS-based role, preferably in a civil engineering or environmental context. • Advanced proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and the ArcGIS Online suite (Survey123, Experience Builder, Map Viewer, Dashboards, etc.)., • Strong experience in spatial analysis, geoprocessing, and data visualization using ArcGIS tools., • Experience with drone/UAS operations, including flight planning, data collection, and imagery processing for GIS use., • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification or willingness to obtain., • Experience with water resources modeling and analysis (HEC-RAS, SWMM, etc.)., • Knowledge of CAD/GIS integration., • Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills, • Strong organizational and project management skills, • Positive attitude and strong work ethic, • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills, • Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels, • Ability to be both creative and analytical, • Positive, solution-oriented attitude, • Detail-oriented and accurate, • Ability to work in a team environment Working Environment/Physical Demands Working Environment • General office environment: Works generally at a desk in a well-lit, air-conditioned cubicle/office, with moderate noise levels., • Extended periods of sitting and using a computer for typing and data entry., • Some walking and standing relative to interaction with other personnel., • Regular use of the phone for conducting interviews and communication with candidates.
