That's why we live different, play different. The Pressman will be responsible for the oversight of the printing process and the press crew. This includes monitoring and modifying the operation of the press, associated materials/supplies and work procedures to ensure efficient, high-quality production. As the team leader, the First Press Operator is responsible for overall training and performance of the printing team. This position is also charged with maintaining equipment functionality and operating capability, coordinating all potential equipment problems and issues with printing management and maintenance What you’ll do as a Pressman: • Responsible for final quality of all printed product. This includes verifying that print and paper quality meets product specifications., • Ensure that members of the printing crew are completing assigned duties and required checklists, • Coordinate materials, supplies and parts to accommodate the printing requirements of each job., • Complete the daily task list, • Monitor, maintain and adjust press settings and controls to produce optimal results. Program computer controls such as the auto count and the CCR. Prepare printing documentation., • Coordinate all changeovers and make-readies in advance. Verify that plates, supplies and materials are available and correct for subsequent print jobs., • Start and stop the press, • Review the print follower and verify that printed product compares well to the follower standard., • When printing results do not meet specifications, make necessary adjustments with the press controls, water or ink levels, • Provide training to crewmembers, • Coordinate print schedules, problems and issues with the press operators from other shifts, • Verify that the required tasks of each crew member is completed satisfactorily, • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on the press and related equipment and report all maintenance issues or problems to printing management and maintenance if necessary, • Keep the press and surrounding work area in neat and orderly condition, free of debris, dirt and obstacles, • Other duties as assigned We’re looking for a Pressman with: Knowledge • Minimum 5 to 8 years of offset printing experience, • High School diploma or equivalent work experience, • Experience with printing equipment maintenance and repairs, • Ability to be an effective leader, motivating the crew to excel and to work well together, • Strong Mechanical aptitude, • High attention to detail and judgment based on written procedures and guidelines, • Ability to quickly identify production problems and ability to identify quality problems, • Ability to work well with others and cooperate with team members and leadership team Benefits a Pressman Can Expect from Cartamundi: • Competitive pay, • Climate controlled facility, • 401(k) with company match, • Health, dental, and vision insurance starting day one, • HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Savings Account), • Life insurance, • Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, • Paid time off, • Tuition reimbursement, • Employee discounts on daycare, gym memberships, travel, and much more Physical requirements and working conditions: Our manufacturing Plant is comprised of enclosed office and manufacturing space. This position requires the ability to: • Sitting at workstation as little as 20% of work time, standing and walking as much as 80% depending on assignment, • Lift / push / pull up to 75 pounds, • Ability to twist, reach, squat, and bend, • Requires ability to reach, grasp, and manipulate objects, • Full color vision, • Involves moderate risks or discomforts and special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, pallets, trucks and machines., • Ability to reach and lift above shoulders, • This Pressman position is located on-site in our Erlanger, Ky facility Apply today and discover the magic of making a difference at Cartamundi!
