American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Phoenix, Arizona. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/03/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in a Surgical Acute, Trauma, Ortho, and Post-Surgical Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital, • 30-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5, • Night shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period and rotation into major holidays, • Floating required to multiple units, including Observation, VMU, and various Med-Surg and Tele units, • Unit handles transplant, Whipple procedures, spine, trauma, and orthopedic joint cases, • Uses Cerner EMR; experience preferred, • Specialized equipment includes telemetry monitoring (Philips), Bipap, and CPAP, • IV team (SWAT RN), RT, and Pharmacy available 24/7, • Primary duties include providing care to trauma, post-op transplant, orthopedic, and surgical patients requiring telemetry monitoring, • Sim Lab on day one is pass/fail, focusing on sterile technique and essential nursing skills, • Orientation consists of two floor-specific shifts plus general facility orientation, • Navy scrubs are required for this unit, • Candidates must provide a copy of their driver’s license for verification, • Pharmacy and Respiratory Therapy services are available around the clock, • No facial piercings allowed while on shift, • Men must be clean shaven for fit test to meet facility policies\n \n Requirements\n, • Active Arizona or compact RN license required at the time of consideration, • Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry nursing experience in a Level 1 trauma setting, • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS (must be current at time of consideration), • Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance, with only two attempts permitted, • Successful completion of a SIMs Lab on sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes on first day of orientation, • Must have natural hair color, no facial piercings, and men must be clean shaven for fit testing, • Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility as determined by driver’s license, • Returning candidates cannot have been employed by the related health system within the last year\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
