Job Description Staff Pharmacist Position Summary The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for the pharmaceutical care of all hospital clients from infant to geriatric. They provide consultative services including: anticoagulation, drug information, formulary reviews, in services on pharmacology/disease state pharmacotherapy, pharmacokinetics to medical, nursing, and allied health professionals. Performs and supervises medication order entry, preparation of all sterile medications, narcotic dispensing and accounting, and dispenses and prepares all investigational medications. Major Responsibilities Distribution Functions – 20% Responsible for compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, codes and standards of the facility. Maintains patient confidentiality as per HIPPA regulations. Reviews, interprets and clarifies all physician orders for appropriate dose, efficacy, safety drug interactions, and incompatibilities.
