Job Description Westlake Dermatology has an immediate opening for a Part-Time off Medical Assistant to assist a provider at our San Antonio Olmos Park and Alamos Heights locations. This is a Part-Time 2 day a week position, the schedule will be Wednesdays & Friday. Candidate must have great attention to detail and excellent customer service skills; must have the ability to multi-task; and prior EHR (EMA) experience is a plus. Prior dermatology or plastic surgery experience is preferred. Job Description The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the physician with patient care, including obtaining history, chief complaint, and consents; assisting with cosmetic procedures (including Botox, fillers, etc.); preparing exam rooms; escorting patients to room; preparing them for provider; and assisting in patient education regarding aftercare protocols and what to expect after treatment. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, EHR charting, stocking of rooms, and turnover of rooms. Medical Assistant is responsible for reviewing and managing schedule to ensure appointments are scheduled appropriately and supplies needed for procedure are available. Education & Experience • High school diploma plus either completion of a college degree or a Medical Assistant program required, • Medical assistant certification is preferred, • Excellent communication skills, • Good problem-solving and analytical skills, • Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment, • Well-organized with attention to detail, • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, • Empathetic with patient needs and concerns, • Ability to work well with provider, anticipating their needs in regard to patient treatment, • Knowledge of medical and skin care terminology, • Proficient with general computer skills Compensation: $18.00 - $20 per hour (plus benefits and 401K options for full-time employees) Westlake Dermatology is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, disability or any other basis prohibited by law.
