Security Officer and Transportation Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Shift Availability: Tuesday-Saturday (9:00 AM–7:30 PM) Because our stores operate across multiple shifts, this position requires schedule flexibility, including availability for different days and times. Pay Rate: $22.00/hr Location: 532 Chili Ave, Rochester, NY 14611 Who You Are: As a Security Officer at Curaleaf, you'll protect our employees, patients, visitors, and inventory through continuous monitoring, patrols, secure transportation duties, and accurate documentation. You are a dependable security professional with strong situational awareness and a commitment to keeping people, property, and products safe. You stay alert, communicate clearly, and respond calmly in both routine and high‑pressure situations. You're comfortable working independently and collaborating with a team, and you take pride in maintaining a secure, compliant environment. You're also confident behind the wheel and comfortable transporting products to authorized locations as part of your security responsibilities. With a clean driving record and a focus on safety, you ensure every delivery is completed securely, professionally, and according to state regulations. What You'll Do: • Patrol the facility to ensure buildings, equipment, and access points are secure; verify all doors and gates are properly locked, • Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems, identifying irregularities or suspicious activity, • Conduct routine checks of security equipment, perform basic troubleshooting, and report maintenance needs, • Manage facility access by greeting, verifying, and authorizing employees, visitors, and delivery personnel, • Respond promptly to alarms and follow established safety and escalation procedures, • Investigate and report unusual activity to the Security Manager or local authorities as appropriate, • Complete clear, accurate, and timely incident reports and daily logs, • Safely and securely transport deliveries to authorized dispensary organizations and patients, ensuring all receipts are properly documented, • Operate company vehicles in full compliance with state, local, and organizational guidelines What You'll Bring: • A valid state driver's license and clean driving record, • Minimum age of 25, • Previous experience in security, safety, law enforcement, or military service, • Strong communication skills with the ability to de‑escalate and remain calm in difficult situations, • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, • 2+ years of professional experience in security, law enforcement, or military service, • Current First Aid/CPR certification While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands and finger to feel, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, and lift up to 50 pounds. This position requires close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less). Work Environment: This job operates in a professional retail environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, POS systems, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This position has allergen warnings including potential exposure to dust, pollen, and plant pathogens and requires the ability to work in confined spaces, have a high stress tolerance, adaptability, and be flexible to work in an ever-changing environment.
