Job Description Located in albuquerque first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm pay depends on experience must have own welding gear Job Title: Welder Job Description This role focuses on fabricating and welding tanks and other industrial equipment using blueprints and flux core processes in a heavy industrial environment. The position is primarily hands-on welding with a strong emphasis on structural work and precise blueprint interpretation, with opportunities to take on fitting responsibilities once familiar with established processes and procedures. Responsibilities • Read and interpret blueprints and basic welding symbols to accurately fabricate tanks and industrial equipment., • Perform welding operations primarily using flux core processes, with approximately 90% flux core welding and 10% GMAW (including some metal core)., • Execute structural welding in multiple positions, including 3G and 4G, in accordance with D1.1 standards., • Use .045 diameter wire and appropriate welding settings to achieve high-quality, structurally sound welds., • Perform fitting tasks, including measuring, aligning, and positioning components, once familiar with internal processes and procedures., • Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as needed to meet standards., • Work safely and efficiently in a heavy manufacturing environment, following all safety procedures and guidelines., • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and maintain consistent workflow., • Operate tools and equipment commonly used in welding and fabrication, and maintain them in good working condition., • At least 3 years of experience as an industrial welder, preferably 3–5 years of consistent work history., • Proficiency with flux core welding, including the ability to weld in 3G and 4G positions., • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and basic welding symbols., • Experience with structural welding, ideally in heavy manufacturing or industrial settings., • Hands-on fitting experience, including layout, alignment, and preparation of materials for welding., • Experience using .045 diameter wire in flux core applications., • Familiarity with GMAW (MIG) welding processes, including some metal core usage., • Ability to work safely in an industrial environment, including confined spaces and at heights., • Experience working to D1.1 structural welding standards., • Back ground in manufacturing or fabrication of tanks, structural components, or similar heavy equipment., • Comfort working on a second-shift schedule after initial training., • Demonstrated reliability and stable work history with minimal job changes., • Ability to adapt to different departments and learn new processes over time. Work Environment Work takes place in an indoor heavy manufacturing facility that produces water and fuel tanks, coal haulers, bottom-dump trailers, and equipment transports for construction and mining applications. Although work is performed inside, employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions, including cold, heat, and wet environments. The setting is a dirty, industrial shop with loud metal clanking and typical fabrication noise. The role requires working in confined spaces and climbing ladders, and employees should be comfortable in a physically demanding environment with standard industrial attire appropriate for welding and fabrication work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albuquerque, NM. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
