Position Overview Job Title: Kitchen Manager Locations: Great Hills (8650 Spicewood Springs Rd) & Oak Hill (6705 US-290) Reports To: General Manager / Franchise Owners Supervises: Grazeologists (Prep Cooks) and Kitchen Staff Employment Type: Full-Time Compensation: $48,000 – $58,000 annually ($23 – $28/hour), based on experience Schedule: Must be available weekdays, weekends, and holidays The Role The Kitchen Manager is the backbone of the Graze Craze prep operation. You will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen activity across both Austin locations — from food prep and product quality to team training and inventory management. You will set the standard for how every charcuterie board, box, and grazing table is assembled, ensuring that each one reflects the artistry, freshness, and precision the Graze Craze name stands for. You will also serve as the direct leader of our Grazeologist team, coaching, motivating, and holding team members accountable to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities Kitchen Operations & Food Quality • Oversee all food preparation activities across both Great Hills and Oak Hill locations, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to Graze Craze recipes, portion standards, and visual presentation guidelines., • Lead and participate in the hands-on assembly of charcuterie boards, boxes, cups, and large-scale grazing tables, setting the quality bar for the entire team., • Develop and maintain prep schedules and production timelines to ensure all orders — including walk-ins, pre-orders, and catering — are fulfilled accurately and on time., • Monitor product freshness, ingredient quality, and appearance standards daily; take corrective action immediately when standards are not met., • Coordinate kitchen workflows to maximize efficiency during peak periods, catering rushes, and high-volume events., • Enforce strict food safety practices at all times, including proper food handling, storage temperatures, cross-contamination prevention, and allergen awareness., • Ensure full compliance with all Texas Department of State Health Services food safety regulations and local health codes at both locations., • Maintain ServSafe Manager Certification and ensure all kitchen staff hold valid Food Handler Certifications., • Conduct regular kitchen inspections and sanitation audits; maintain readiness for unannounced health department visits., • Directly supervise, coach, and develop Grazeologists and kitchen staff at both locations, fostering a team culture built on pride, precision, and positivity., • Onboard and train new kitchen team members on Graze Craze prep techniques, food safety protocols, presentation standards, and operational procedures., • Conduct ongoing skills training and refresher sessions to maintain and elevate product quality across the team., • Provide constructive, real-time feedback to team members during shifts and conduct formal performance check-ins with the General Manager., • Assist the General Manager with scheduling kitchen staff to ensure appropriate coverage at both locations., • Manage daily and weekly inventory counts for all food and kitchen supply items across both locations., • Place, receive, and verify supplier orders; ensure proper FIFO (first in, first out) stock rotation to minimize waste and maintain freshness., • Monitor and manage food costs and waste, identifying opportunities to reduce loss without compromising product quality., • Communicate low-stock, over-stock, and supplier issues to the General Manager in a timely manner., • Collaborate with the General Manager and front-of-house team to coordinate and execute catering orders and large grazing table events., • Oversee the prep, packaging, and timely delivery readiness of all catering and special event orders., • Ensure catering presentations meet or exceed Graze Craze brand standards and client expectations., • Assist with catering consultations when needed, offering input on product selection, quantities, and logistics.Qualifications, • 3+ years of kitchen management, lead prep cook, or food service supervisor experience required., • ServSafe Manager Certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)., • Strong knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and Texas health code requirements., • Experience managing and developing a team in a fast-paced food environment., • Exceptional attention to detail with a deep commitment to product quality and visual presentation., • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously across two locations., • Experience with inventory management, food cost control, and supplier relations., • Strong communication and leadership skills — confident, calm, and constructive under pressure., • Passion for food artistry, charcuterie, or specialty food is a strong plus., • Reliable transportation between both Austin locations required., • Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and peak catering seasons., • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.What We Offer, • Competitive pay commensurate with experience., • Leadership role in a growing, community-loved brand with two established Austin locations., • Creative, food-forward work environment where quality and artistry are celebrated daily., • Supportive General Manager and franchise ownership team invested in your success., • Employee discounts across both Graze Craze Austin locations., • Hands-on training in charcuterie arts, food production, and kitchen leadership.
