Job Overview The Second Shift Sanitation Supervisor oversees second-shift sanitation operations and supports limited second-shift production activities to ensure the facility is safe, compliant, and fully prepared for first-shift operations. This role leads a team of approximately 8–10 hourly employees, coordinates sanitation processes from start to finish, and partners closely with Quality, Maintenance, and first-shift leadership to ensure food safety, compliance, and operational continuity. Job Responsibilities • Lead and supervise second-shift sanitation operations from start to completion, ensuring the facility is clean, safe, compliant, and fully prepared for first-shift production, • Support limited second-shift production activities, primarily cooking operations, as needed, • Ensure full compliance with food safety, sanitation, and quality standards, including SQF, USDA, FDA, GMPs, SSOPs, and SOPs, • Assign work, inspect results, and hold team members accountable for safety, quality, and performance expectations, • Provide hands-on training, coaching, and ongoing development for second-shift employees to build capability, consistency, and accountability, • Lead by example on the floor—working alongside team members when needed to demonstrate proper procedures and reinforce standards, • Ensure proper chemical handling, PPE usage, and adherence to all safety requirements, • Coordinate with Maintenance on second-shift preventative maintenance, equipment issues, and repair needs, • Complete all required sanitation, production, and quality documentation accurately and on time, • Manage timekeeping and support staffing needs, including scheduling and coordination of temporary labor, • Communicate effectively with Quality, Maintenance, and first-shift leadership to ensure smooth shift handoffs and operational continuity, • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment at all times Qualifications • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing, sanitation, or production environments, • Proven experience coordinating sanitation processes with accountability for quality, compliance, and production readiness, • Strong working knowledge of food safety and quality standards, including SQF, USDA, FDA, GMPs, SSOPs, and SOPs, • Comfortable overseeing both sanitation operations and limited production activities (not a sanitation-only role), • Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and develop hourly teams, providing hands-on guidance and reinforcing expectations on the floor, • Leadership style that is calm, consistent, and solutions-focused, with a willingness to lead by example, • Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally with Quality, Maintenance, and first-shift leadership, • Hands-on experience supervising hourly employees, inspecting work, and addressing performance or safety issues in real time, • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and timekeeping or payroll systems, • Reliable and flexible for second-shift operations where end times may vary based on production and sanitation needs Benefits • Quarterly Incentive Program tied to company performance, • Paid Time Off (PTO): Two weeks (10 days) annually, • Medical Insurance: Comprehensive medical plan, • Dental Insurance: Available at employee expense, • Life Insurance: One year’s gross annual pay (100% company-funded), • 401(k): Eligible after one year, with company match up to 4%, • Company Holidays: Nine paid holidays, • Long-Term Disability: Company-sponsored coverage for salaried employees
