Job DescriptionDescription: We’re seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Branch Manager to help lead our Columbia, MO branch operations and deliver exceptional service to our valued customers. In this pivotal role, you’ll support the Branch Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment. You’ll also serve as a trusted resource for staff, resolve escalated customer concerns, and step into leadership when needed. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position and in-office attendance is required during Bank operations. Basic Description: The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the branch to ensure exceptional customer service, operational compliance, and a positive team environment. This role assists in leading branch staff, driving growth initiatives, and maintaining high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism. The Assistant Branch Manager acts as a resource for employees, helps resolve escalated customer concerns, and steps into the Branch Manager role when needed. Responsibilities: 1. Branch Operations & Compliance • Ensure all branch activities follow bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including FDIC, BSA/AML, and security protocols., • Oversee daily branch operations including cash handling, dual control procedures, vault and ATM balancing, and teller drawer audits., • Assist with maintaining accurate records, logs, and documentation in accordance with internal and external guidelines., • Support the development and implementation of operational improvements to enhance branch efficiency. 2. Leadership & Staff Development • Provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to branch staff., • Assist with scheduling, delegation of daily tasks, and ensuring adequate staffing coverage., • Support onboarding and ongoing training for tellers and personal bankers. 3. Customer Service & Relationship Management • Resolve complex customer inquiries or concerns professionally and efficiently., • Encourage staff to identify customer needs and promote appropriate banking products and services., • Build strong customer relationships to support retention and growth of the branch’s customer base. 4. Sales Support & Growth Initiatives • Support the execution of branch sales goals, including deposit growth, lending referrals, and service adoption., • Motivate staff to meet performance goals through coaching, product knowledge, and accountability. Education & Experience • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred., • 2–5 years of banking experience, including teller or customer service roles., • Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills., • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities., • Solid understanding of bank products, services, and compliance requirements., • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment., • Proficiency with banking systems, Microsoft Office, and internal software.
