Job DescriptionDescription: General Summary: The Maintenance Technician performs preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on production machinery, CNC equipment, vacuum systems, and facility support systems to ensure reliable operation, maximize uptime, and support safe and efficient manufacturing. This role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and works alongside production, engineering, and equipment vendors. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including CNC mills, lathes, grinders, vacuum systems, and support equipment., • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system failures using tools, meters, and schematics., • Assist in root cause diagnosis and repairs to restore equipment to full operation with minimal downtime., • Clean, lubricate, adjust, align, and replace worn components, bearings, couplings, belts, hydraulics, pumps, sensors, and other parts., • Respond to equipment stoppages and coordinate with production to minimize impact. 2. Preventive Maintenance & Planning Support • Follow and execute preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for all critical equipment., • Aid the Maintenance Supervisor in documenting and updating PM tasks, checklists, and maintenance logs. 3. Vacuum & Specialty Systems Support • Support maintenance on vacuum pumps, vacuum chambers, and related support systems, including fluid changes, seals, and leak checks., • Support and maintain de-ionized water, hydrostatic, hydraulic, chill water, & production oven systems. 4. Facility Systems • Maintain basic facility systems tied to production uptime (e.g., air compressors, plumbing, ventilation, lighting, building access)., • Assist external contractors with inspections, repairs, and installations as needed. Requirements: Minimum Required Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED required, • 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing equipment maintenance with emphasis on mechanical systems, CNC machinery, and/or basic electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic troubleshooting., • Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and collaborate across teams., • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and manuals., • Familiarity with lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE, and safety standards., • Experience with CNC mills., • Prior work with vacuum technology or vacuum system maintenance., • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly., • Stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift., • Works around hazardous materials, machinery, moving parts, shop noise, and elevated surfaces., • May require occasional overtime or emergency response per maintenance needs., • Adherence to safety procedures (LOTO, PPE) required.
