Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY Engages with and manages Club Members in program spaces in one of 5 current Club sites, ensures Club environment is Safe, Positive, and Fun. Collaborate with other staff to plan for, structure and maintain Optimal Club Experience (Sense of Belonging, Positive Peer Relationships, Positive Mentor-youth Relationships, anticipate needs and safety barriers, address issues quickly and intentionally). Responsible for the cleanliness and appearance of program spaces, equipment, and supplies. Supports scheduled programming and helps engage Club Members into program activities. Fosters impact- filled relationships with Club Members to promote Positive Youth Development, Emotional and Physical Safety, and Positive Youth Relationships. KEY ROLESYouth Development • Support programs, activities, and services, • Create a Club environment that facilitates Positive Youth Development, • Ensure a healthy and safe environment (physical and emotional) for all Club Members at all times, • Follow and uphold Code of Ethics for BGCC, • Follow and uphold licensing policies and regulations, • Engage in all required staff meetings, • Comply with all Club policies and proceduresResource Management, • Support program evaluation and outcomes measurement, • Complete program data gathering, such as attendance and pre/post measures in a timely and fun/engaging mannerMarketing & Public Relations, • Support efforts to achieve Club membership, retention and engagement, • May participate in special programs and/or events, • Communicate progress and developmental wins to parents on regular basis, • Assist with program participation via field trip permission slips, generate excitement among youth, etc. *Five Key Elements for Positive Youth Development: • Create a safe, positive environment, • Generate fun and foster a sense of belonging, • Encourage supporting relationships with peers and adults, • Provide opportunities and set expectations, • Offer recognition **Boys & Girls Club of America Values: • Integrity, • Collaboration, • Accountability, • Respect, • Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club Staff (professional and volunteer), Club Members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; engage and instruct Club Members; advise and be a role model for Club Members., • High school diploma or GED, required, • College coursework in child-related course, preferred, • Experience in out-of-school programming, or similar experience in supervising youth, preferred, • Knowledge of youth development, • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior, • Strong, clear communication skills, both verbal and written, • Highly organized, • Able to anticipate youth needs and maintain group schedule, • Must be at least 18 years of age, • A valid Class E driver's license (or willing to obtain), have a good driving record, and have been licensed to drive for a minimum of three years in order to transport passengers in Club vehicles, preferred, • Periodically required to lift items up to 25 pounds (e.g. files, equipment), • Regularly required to speak clearly and hear the spoken word well, • Regularly required to utilize near vision ability to read data and documents, including spreadsheets and reports, in printed form and on computer screens By submitting this job application, you acknowledge and consent to undergo a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
