Job Description ABOUT EMPLOYMENT We're looking for a driven, knowledgeable Commercial Insurance Producer to join a growing Farmers agency and help expand its commercial book across the DFW market. If you're licensed, experienced in commercial insurance, and motivated by production and earning potential, this could be your next great opportunity.What You'll Do New Business Development • Build and maintain a targeted prospect list based on industry, geography, and business profile., • Develop and manage a consistent prospecting strategy., • Identify new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, referrals, networking, and existing agency relationships., • Develop Centers of Influence, including:, • CPAs, • Attorneys, • Bankers, • Bonding agents, • Business professionals, • Industry associations, • Identify commercial opportunities within existing Personal Lines relationships., • Develop referrals from producers, service team members, and existing clients., • Represent the agency at chamber events, trade associations, networking events, and community functions., • Maintain a disciplined sales pipeline with accurate stages, opportunity values, and expected close dates., • Follow up consistently with prospects and manage opportunities through the full sales cycle. Commercial Risk & Coverage Advisory • Meet with business owners, executives, and other decision-makers to understand their operations and insurance needs., • Analyze exposures related to:, • Business operations, • Payroll, • Class codes, • Fleet, • Property values, • Contracts, • Prior loss history, • Other relevant business risks, • Identify gaps in a prospect's existing insurance program., • Help clients understand their exposures and recommend appropriate coverage solutions., • Develop insurance programs based on the client's overall risk — not simply the lowest premium., • Advise clients on appropriate coverage limits, deductibles, exclusions, and risk considerations. Commercial Products You'll work with a range of Commercial Lines products, including: • Business Owners Policies (BOP), • Commercial General Liability (CGL), • Commercial Property, • Commercial Auto, • Workers' Compensation, • Umbrella / Excess Liability Experience across multiple commercial lines is important because you'll be expected to understand the client's overall risk profile and recommend an appropriate insurance program. Submissions & Closing • Gather complete submission information, including:, • ACORD applications, • Supplemental applications, • Loss runs, • Financial information, • Exposure information, • Other required documentation, • Prepare accurate and complete submissions., • Submit accounts through the appropriate Farmers commercial platform., • Work directly with underwriters regarding:, • Terms, • Pricing, • Credits, • Coverage, • Prepare professional proposals comparing coverage, limits, deductibles, exclusions, and overall cost of risk., • Present proposals to owners, controllers, CFOs, and other decision-makers., • Lead prospects through the sales process from initial conversation through signature and binding., • Coordinate premium financing, down payments, and required documentation., • Ensure accurate binding within granted authority., • Maintain complete and audit-ready account documentation. Account Growth & Client Relationships While this is primarily a sales and production-focused role, you'll also play an important role in developing long-term relationships with the clients you bring in. You'll: • Develop renewal strategies for your book., • Conduct exposure reviews and identify changing business needs., • Conduct annual stewardship reviews., • Identify opportunities for additional coverage., • Review claims activity and experience modification trends when applicable., • Recommend changes to insurance programs as the client's business evolves., • Advocate for clients when issues arise., • Coordinate with Farmers claims representatives and the service team when needed., • Support Certificates of Insurance and contractual insurance requirements., • Assist with premium audits and communicate results and implications to clients. The goal is to build strong client relationships while keeping your primary focus on growth and new business production. What We're Looking For Required • Active Texas General Lines Property & Casualty license, • 1+ years of commercial insurance experience, • Experience in commercial insurance sales, underwriting, or account management, • Strong working knowledge of commercial insurance products and coverage forms, • Understanding of:, • BOP, • CGL, • Commercial Property, • Commercial Auto, • Workers' Compensation, • Umbrella, • Familiarity with:, • ACORD applications, • Loss runs, • Class codes, • Experience modification factors, • Proven ability to prospect independently and manage a self-directed sales pipeline, • Strong presentation and negotiation skills, • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, • Ability to communicate confidently with business owners, executives, and other decision-makers, • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, • Ability to work independently while following agency and carrier guidelines, • Strong computer and agency-management-system skills, • Valid Texas driver's license, • Reliable transportation, • Personal auto insurance meeting agency requirements Preferred • Existing relationships within the DFW commercial insurance market, • Existing book of business, • Experience with Farmers commercial products and submission platforms, • Industry specialization in areas such as:, • Contractors, • Trucking / Transportation, • Restaurants, • Habitational, • Professional Services, • CIC, CPCU, CRM, or similar designation, • Progress toward an industry designation, • Bilingual English/Spanish An existing book of business is a plus — but it is not required. We're more interested in your commercial insurance expertise, sales ability, and potential to produce.
