POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a skilled and energetic Purchasing Assistant to work in a fast-paced, exciting environment to join our purchasing team. Role will assist the Purchasing Manager with all aspects of the purchasing department and functions including track/obtain department objectives that are in line with the company overall objectives. The individual working in the Purchasing Asst. role must prioritize and re-prioritize multiple times per day for maximum efficiency, timeliness, and accuracy because the duties are varied and high volume with frequent interruptions and distractions. DUTIES Receives purchase orders and processes workflows. Conducts Receiving Audit on a daily basis. Reconciles all reports, open purchase orders, and packing slips. Daily fabric purchasing. Generates and distributes inventory count sheet to production. Forwards appropriate paperwork to accounting department for payment. Files Audit Trail Report. Reviews daily Late Receiving Report. Contacts suppliers according to current procedures, updates any adjusted delivery receipt dates. Verifies and receives written acknowledgements for all purchase orders from suppliers. Responsible for MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operating) and office supply ordering. Orders vending machine supplies and stocks machine. Reconciles physical counts and makes inventory adjustments. Reconcile credit card statements. Assists in maintaining the supplier and purchasing files/records, including Liability Insurance renewals. Assists Purchasing Manager as requested. Assists in expediting requests, data entry, and general filing for purchasing department. Follows-up with Suppliers as directed by Purchasing Manager. Works closely with the other departments and attends daily production planning meetings to ensure accuracy of information, communication, and timely processing. Work together with suppliers and vendors to foster collaborative relationships. Secure product at the best cost and service while maintaining the highest level of ethical standards. Source new and alternate suppliers, including part qualification process for first article inspection (FAI). Contributes to team initiatives, including the creation of knowledge, processes, and tools to improve the efficiency and productivity of Neutral Posture. Maintain a good level of knowledge of your department, your role, and our ever-evolving product, service offering and internal systems. Support corporate activities as needed i.e. special projects & other duties as assigned by supervisor. WHAT YOU BRING TO NEUTRAL POSTURE PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLSET (Soft Skills) · Manufacturing/Production experience and/or exposure preferred. · 1-3 years purchasing experience or related, transferrable knowledge · Accuracy, organization, detailed, efficient, flexible, coordinate shifting priorities, & ability to meet deadlines. · Strong communication skills-written, verbal and interpersonal. · Strong willingness to take on other responsibilities/duties as needed. · Analysis, teamwork, judgment/discernment, collaboration, relationship building, ability to switch gears quickly while in a high-volume environment, and negotiation skills are paramount in this role. · Problem resolution – intuitively understands how to research, exchange information, and apply techniques for solution options. · Uses company databases, email, internet, phone, and appropriate personnel both inside and outside for information and collaboration on resolutions. · Ability to interact with all levels and areas of the company · Desire to continue your skills, growth, and learning. Continual process improvement is expected. · Strong work ethic and exemplary attendance with strong service and computer skills. · Able to, reliably, commute to Bryan, TX daily M-F EQUIPMENT EXPERIENCE · MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Windows PC, Macola Software (preferred) · General Office Equipment & Machines (Phone, fax, scanner, copier, computer, printer, webcam, etc.) · Word processing, spreadsheet, and database skills to prepare correspondence, reports, forms, materials, etc. with speed and accuracy, including the willingness to learn and use new computer programs/applications WHAT NEUTRAL POSTURE PROVIDES ITS TEAM MEMBERS COMPENSATION, HOURS, BENEFITS Regular, Full-Time Mon - Fri 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. 1 hour lunch (8 hours/day, Seasonal OT) Salary range or Rate of Pay: $18.00-20.00/ Hr.
