Job DescriptionJob Title: Facilities Technician I (Entry-Level)Job Description The Facilities Technician I is an entry-level role responsible for supporting the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems. This position assists senior technicians, completes basic maintenance tasks, and helps ensure a safe, clean, and efficient work environment. Responsibilities • Perform basic preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and fixtures., • Assist with minor repairs involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical tasks., • Respond to work orders and document tasks in the maintenance system., • Conduct routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and safety devices., • Support facility cleanliness and organization, including common areas, storage rooms, and maintenance spaces., • Help set up workspaces, furniture, and equipment for employees or events., • Monitor inventory of tools, supplies, and replacement parts., • Follow safety procedures and report hazards or equipment issues promptly.Essential Skills, • Basic mechanical aptitude – understanding how tools, equipment, and building systems work., • General maintenance skills – simple repairs on doors, fixtures, furniture, and equipment., • Basic electrical knowledge – changing ballasts, outlets, switches, and troubleshooting minor issues., • Basic plumbing skills – unclogging drains, fixing leaks, replacing fixtures., • HVAC familiarity – assisting with filter changes, inspections, and simple tasks., • Tool proficiency – safe use of hand tools and power tools., • Software basics – entering work orders and updating maintenance logs.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with hand tools and power tools., • Familiarity with changing filters and working with air handlers.
