This is a non-retail compounding pharmacy role supporting physicians, medical practices, patients, pharmacists, and the internal teams responsible for moving customized prescriptions accurately and efficiently from receipt through fulfillment and delivery. Why This Role Exists The Front-End Pharmacy Technician is one of the critical control points between a physician prescription and successful fulfillment. The role exists to ensure prescriptions are received correctly, entered accurately, communicated clearly, documented completely, and moved through the pharmacy without preventable delays or errors. This person must combine pharmacy discipline with strong customer service. Exceptional performers do more than complete transactions: they recognize missing information, anticipate problems, communicate proactively, protect accuracy under pressure, and take ownership until the issue is resolved or properly handed off. Performance RoadmapFirst 30 Days – Learn the System and Standards • Learn Vertisis front-end workflow, prescription intake process, documentation expectations, privacy requirements, and escalation pathways., • Begin structured training in PK Software, Point of Sale processes, prescription data entry, labeling, pickup, shipping, and required logs., • Demonstrate dependable attendance, professional communication, coachability, and consistent adherence to established pharmacy procedures., • Build working relationships with pharmacists, technicians, operations staff, couriers, and other internal partners.By 60 Days – Perform Core Work Reliably, • Process routine prescriptions and related front-end transactions with increasing independence and consistent attention to detail., • Handle physician-office calls and questions professionally, escalating clinical or pharmacist-level questions appropriately., • Recognize incomplete, inconsistent, or missing prescription information before it creates downstream delays., • Support filling, labeling, pickup, shipping, inventory, and front-desk responsibilities according to assigned workflow.By 90 Days – Own the Workflow, • Consistently manage assigned front-end responsibilities with minimal oversight while maintaining accuracy and service standards., • Demonstrate reliable prioritization when phones, prescription entry, pickups, shipping deadlines, and other requests compete for attention., • Use closed-loop follow-through so unresolved items are tracked, communicated, and completed rather than dropped between team members., • Demonstrate sound judgment regarding when to resolve an issue independently and when to involve a pharmacist, supervisor, or another department.By 12 Months – Become a Trusted Front-End Technician, • Be recognized as a dependable, accurate technician who can be trusted with core front-end pharmacy workflows., • Contribute to efficient prescription flow and help reduce preventable rework, missing information, communication breakdowns, and avoidable delays., • Provide consistent, professional service that strengthens physician-office confidence in Vertisis., • Support team flexibility through cross-training and help reinforce quality, compliance, organization, and accountability standards., • Identify practical improvements to workflow, communication, documentation, or customer experience when opportunities arise.Key Performance Objectives (KPOs) & Success Measures1. Prescription Intake & Data Accuracy – 25%, • Receive physician prescriptions and enter required information accurately into PK Software and related systems., • Verify critical details before moving an order forward and identify missing or inconsistent information early., • Maintain a consistently low level of preventable entry, labeling, documentation, or processing errors., • Demonstrate disciplined attention to detail even during higher-volume periods.2. Physician & Customer Service – 20%, • Provide responsive, professional, courteous support to physicians, medical-office staff, couriers, patients, and internal partners., • Communicate clearly and confidently without providing clinical guidance outside the technician’s scope., • Escalate pharmacist-level or clinical questions promptly and ensure the customer reaches the correct resource., • Create a service experience that reinforces Vertisis as a dependable pharmacy partner.3. Prescription Flow, Follow-Through & Timeliness – 20%, • Keep assigned prescriptions and transactions moving through the front-end workflow without avoidable stalls., • Identify potential delays and take appropriate action rather than waiting for problems to surface later., • Use closed-loop handoffs and follow-up so incomplete tasks do not fall through the cracks., • Balance urgency with accuracy and compliance.4. Documentation, Compliance & Patient Safety – 15%, • Complete labels, logs, transaction records, prescription documentation, and other required records accurately and on time., • Follow privacy, safety, pharmacy, and internal compliance requirements consistently., • Respect role boundaries and escalate issues when pharmacist review or leadership intervention is required., • Maintain organized work practices that support traceability, reliability, and patient safety.5. Fulfillment, Pickup, Shipping & Operational Readiness – 10%, • Support prescription filling and preparation activities according to assigned responsibilities., • Coordinate medication pickup, courier interactions, shipping materials, and related documentation accurately., • Maintain necessary supplies and contribute to an orderly, clean, and efficient work area., • Help prevent fulfillment delays caused by incomplete preparation, missing materials, or communication gaps.6.
