American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN CVPICU for a travel nursing job in Charlotte, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: CVPICU, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 03/30/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Mar 30, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • 12-hour night shifts (1900–0700) in a 20-bed Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU, • High-acuity pediatric patient population ages 0–18 with congenital heart conditions, pre- and post-transplant care, post-cath lab, and ventricular assistive devices including ECMO, Impella, and Aquadex (renal replacement therapy), • Patient ratios vary by acuity: 2:1, 1:1, or 1:2, • EMR: Epic (experience required), • Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors, • Weekend rotation every other weekend or fewer as needed (Fri/Sat/Sun), • Floating required to PICU, NICU, and General Pediatrics as needed, • Schedule cycles every 6 weeksRequirements, • Active NC or compact RN license currently in hand, • Current certifications: BLS, PALS, and NIHSS, • Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience in a similarly acute facility, • Most recent experience must be within the last year, • Experience with fresh open-heart post-op patients, transplant patients, and advanced devices including ECMO, Impella, and Aquadex, • Epic EMR experience required, • Competency to float to PICU, • At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the past year, • Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for considerationAdditional Information, • Unit is housed in a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and academic teaching hospital with a nationally ranked congenital cardiology program (#7 per USNWR), • Unit is organized into two mirrored 10-bed sides with a centralized nurses' station; most critical patients are positioned closest to the station, • Departmental support includes a free-floating charge nurse and resource nurse, unit secretary every shift, IV/VAT team, in-house phlebotomy, RT 24/7, cardiologist 24/7, and intensivist 24/7, • Orientation includes facility NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation, • Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays, • RTO requires manager approval, • Navy scrubs required, • Free parking available, • Candidates must have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted, • Former permanent employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
