Job Description Job Title: Finish (Interior) Carpenter Job Description This role focuses on interior commercial finish carpentry within a large healthcare facility, with potential involvement in other commercial projects. You will install doors, frames, hardware, cabinetry, and related interior finishes while helping maintain a clean, safe, and efficient jobsite. Responsibilities • Perform interior commercial finish carpentry work in an active healthcare facility and other commercial environments., • Install hollow metal door frames accurately and securely according to project specifications and blueprints., • Set and hang doors, ensuring proper alignment, operation, and fit with frames and hardware., • Install a variety of door hardware, including locks, hinges, closers, and related components., • Install backing in kitchens and bathrooms to support cabinetry, bathroom partitions, and miscellaneous bathroom accessories., • Install base and wall cabinets in kitchen areas, ensuring proper leveling, anchoring, and alignment., • Install tabletops on base cabinets, ensuring secure attachment and a clean, finished appearance., • Read and interpret blueprints and construction documents to complete tasks according to design and code requirements., • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete carpentry tasks., • Assist with rough carpentry, formwork, concrete-related tasks, and other commercial construction activities as needed., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, promptly addressing debris and hazards., • Follow all site-specific safety protocols, including OSHA requirements and hospital-specific rules., • Participate in and comply with bckgd checks and other site access requirements., • Demonstrate dependability by arriving on time, working full scheduled shifts, and meeting project deadlines., • Proven experience in commercial construction, with a focus on interior finish carpentry., • Hands-on experience installing hollow metal door frames, doors, and door hardware in commercial settings., • Ability to install kitchen and bathroom backing, cabinetry, and related accessories., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings., • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in carpentry., • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently on a regular basis., • Demonstrated dependability and strong attendance, with a clear understanding of schedule commitments., • Strong sense of urgency and ability to work efficiently to meet project timelines., • Willingness and ability to complete OSHA 30 training prior to starting on site., • Experience with both rough and finish carpentry in commercial projects such as hospitals, schools, industrial, and manufacturing facilities., • Bckgd in formwork and concrete-related tasks within commercial construction., • Comfort working in environments that may be dusty, dirty, or otherwise physically demanding., • Willingness to undergo and comply with additional hospital clearance processes, including enhanced bckgd checks. Work Environment You will primarily work indoors on a large hospital project, performing finish carpentry in an active commercial construction environment. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the expectation that you arrive on time and ready to work. While most work is interior, you may occasionally be asked to assist with exterior or form carpentry if project needs shift. The work can be physically demanding and sometimes dirty, requiring frequent lifting, bending, and use of ladders or other access equipment. You will use a range of hand tools and power tools and must follow strict safety protocols, including OSHA standards and site-specific hospital rules. Projects often involve heavy commercial construction, including hospitals, schools, industrial, and manufacturing facilities, where professionalism, safety awareness, and adherence to site procedures are essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cincinnati, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
