Job Description Surgical Center Nursing Director Job Purpose: The Surgical Center Nursing Director is responsible for ensuring IVI America Practices act in compliance with state, federal, and Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) regulations. This position will foster and facilitate relationships with practice Administrators, Nurse Managers, and Medical Directors and be involved with on-going facility support. Essential Functions and Accountabilities: • Maintains current knowledge of the regulatory requirements for Ambulatory Surgery Centers., • Stays appraised of State specific guidelines for Licensure and Medicare Certification (if applicable)., • Establishes appropriate contacts within State Agencies in order to process Licensure and Medicare application Certification (if applicable)., • Manages State Licensure and Accreditation processes and ensure applications are submitted to the appropriate agencies in a timely fashion., • Ensures the center is always “survey ready.”, • Performs onsite audits, utilizing applicable State, Medicare, and other guidelines to ensure adherence to both corporate and regulatory compliance issues., • Identifies clinical/regulatory issues and opportunities for improvement within each facility., • Recommends solutions, provide follow-up and ensures ongoing facility support., • Serves as point of contact for initial survey processes., • Works with the onsite team to complete any required remediation., • Follows up with appropriate regulatory agency personnel post-survey to facilitate receipt of necessary documentation., • Drafts, reviews and revises IVI-RMA ASC policies and procedures as required., • Researches and presents capital equipment and supply needs/recommendations for the center., • Works with vendors and sales representatives to procure equipment and supplies for the Center., • Implements/maintains purchase agreements to manage the center budget., • Aids Operations in appropriate space planning and flow patterns for physical plant., • Assists with the orientation of new center staff. Establishes competencies and ensure completion of applicable paperwork. Provides follow up training as needed., • Responsible for maintaining clinical staffing metrics for the IVI-RMA ASC., • Provides guidance regarding the delineation of responsibilities and standardization of duties., • Collaborates with IVI-RMA to implement appropriate staff schedules and oversees the approval of additional headcount., • Supervises ASC training procedures., • Ensures that the center has established all required accounts and referral sources, including but not limited to, vendors, anesthesia services, pharmacies, etc., • Monitors department KPIs and provides feedback to IVI America Clinic Leaders., • Conducts annual clinical needs assessments., • Brings any concerns to the IVI America leadership for review., • Assists in evaluating and implementing process improvement efforts focused on patient safety, patient satisfaction, efficient work flows, and more error-free processes., • Maintains licensure at all times during employment., • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and ongoing education as directed., • Plan and provide equipment and supplies based on procedure and physician needs., • Demonstrate clinical expertise in assisting physician as it relates to specific procedures and patient needs clinically., • Promote cost containment while delivering quality patient care., • Participate in assignments and demonstrates flexibility to cover staffing as needed., • Demonstrate flexibility to perform other functions within the Center, Procedure room and PACU to assist in smooth operation of the department., • Analyze pertinent data, communicate findings and document information appropriately., • Actively look at improving patient care and process improvement., • Maintains a safe working environment to include radiation safety/appropriate personal protection attire if applicable., • Serves as the Infection Control Designee., • Serves on the Quality Assurance Committee, Safety and on other committees as appropriate., • Responsible for quarterly reports, meeting minutes, credentialing, contracts, service agreements, policy and procedures, and other reports as appropriate. Supervisor Responsibilities: • Ensure that team members have the necessary training for proper performance and development., • Maintain organization of team members’ timesheets, PTO, etc. to ensure that tasks are properly carried out., • Transmit the Company’s policies (health and safety, labor legislation, training, etc.) to ensure compliance. Academic Training: • RN licensure, • Studies level: License, • Studies area: Nursing, • Current BLS and ACLS, • Studies level: Certification, • Studies area: BLS/ACLS, • Bachelor Degree in Nursing or equivalent college degree, • Studies level: University Education (Bachelor's Degree), • Studies area: Nursing Position Requirements/Experience: • Proven record of successful ASC Administration and/or management experience, • Must have thorough understanding of regulatory guidelines (i.e., AAAHC, CLIA, OSHA, State Department(s) of Health, CMS and DEA). Technical Skills: • Proficient in computer programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
