Position Summary This position is casted as a stakeholder in the overall success of the business unit. Working hand in hand with management, the employee must be self-motivated, quick to adapt and with an ability to contribute to the overall success of the business unit. This employee will have varying degrees of autonomy in the business decisions of the unit and has ownership in all operational activity carried out by the business unit. This employee will facilitate the day to day operations of all associated customers, vendors and service providers which have a legitimate business purpose with the business unit. This employee will engage in physical terminal operations support and or lead the business goals of the day. This employee will report to the Director / Sr. Manager of Terminal Operations. The employee will have extensive interactions with shipboard and shore management pertaining to operations, logistics, security, guest services, safety environmental and public health procedures linked to the vessel’s terminal operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Supports the operational needs set out by the Sr. Manager of Terminal Operations and the business unit., • Enforce Safety & Quality Management policies and Terminal Security plan., • Has the ability to operate the Cruise Terminal as a world-class facility for cruise lines, cruise passengers, and special event participants, while minimizing operational costs and maximizing revenue., • Owns the master file of all port activities for record., • Maintenance of port calendar, berth applications, contracts, tariff rates., • Maintains records relating to lease agreement, security, stevedore, ground handler, transportation, public liability claims, facility maintenance., • Prepares approved visitor lists, independent vehicle schedules for each vessel call, • Assist vessel requests as needed, including ship mail, lost luggage, equipment rentals and utility needs., • Nurtures positive relationship with CBP, USCG and government agencies to satisfy requirements., • Carries out the supervision of planned maintenance., • Collaborates in the establishment of procedures for operational contingencies and terminal emergency management., • Reviews purchase orders for procurement of spare parts and consumables., • Works with the business unit on identifying and achieving various revenue streams including parking and special events., • Supervises the rental of the Cruise Terminal for conferences, conventions, special events, catering and banquet services Qualifications and Educational Requirements • Associates Degree or Higher, • 1-3 yrs Professional Operational Experience (Maritime Industry Preferred), • Knowledge and understanding of Guest Port Services, • Knowledge and understanding of Port Operations, • Knowledge and understanding of Facility Management, • Facility Security Officer Certified (preferred but can be trained), • Certification in Basic 1st Aid and CPR, • Ability to obtain TWIC and POM ID., • Basic technical knowledge and understanding of automated systems, digital lighting, public address systems and digital displays., • General knowledge of Microsoft software applications (Excel, Word, etc), • Physical ability to climb steps and move about a terminal facility without restriction. While performing job functions the employee is regularly required to sit, and stand, write, review and type reports, compile data, operate a pc, communicate, listen, and assess information. The employee may move about the office complex, may travel to other office locations and may lift, push, pull or move 10-15 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to walk to the dock, ascend and descend the vessel.
