Our Client, a Healthcare company, is looking for a Dialysis Technician for their Poulsbo, WA location. Responsibilities: • The Dialysis Technician provides care for renal dialysis patients, following specific protocols, under the supervision of an client Registered Staff Nurse., • Apply the principles of dialysis when providing treatments and using equipment and supplies., • Accurately identify and calculate changes in weight., • Identify the importance of dry weight and significance of changes in weight., • Accurately take a blood pressure., • See and differentiate colors., • Operate a computer., • Read, write, speak, and understand English for the purpose of following written policies and procedures, completion of reports, and communicating with others in the work setting., • Understand, adapt to, apply, and communicate policy and procedural changes., • Approach work requirements in a methodical and conscientious manner., • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously., • Learn dialysis machine and treatment functions., • Perform metric system conversions., • Consistently arrive at work on time, and maintain excellent attendance., • Successfully complete initial training and preceptorship, including passing all tests with an, • 80% score. Independent study required during initial training., • Identify, assess, and resolve problems in a timely fashion., • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, patients, and visitors., • React calmly and effectively in emergency situations., • Maintain quality control standards., • Follow the organization’s policies and procedures., • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner., • Use the principles of the aseptic technique appropriately., • Initiate, monitor, and discontinue dialysis treatment according to policy and procedure., • Use dialysis equipment and supplies per policy and procedure., • Place and remove dialysis needles., • Perform dialysis machine testing., • Accurately calculate changes in weight and report finds to supervising nurse., • Assemble supplies for treatments., • Prepare dialysis machine and related equipment., • Complete pre-dialysis assessment of the patient., • Identify and communicate problems with needles or dialysis access to the supervising nurse., • Appropriately identify, communicate, and intervene with regards to medical crisis or complications., • Perform inventory of supplies and maintain appropriate stock levels as instructed., • Identify and correct equipment and technical deficiencies as trained., • Use appropriate written and oral communication in the treatment area., • Participate in the orientation and training of new employees., • Identify and report safety and quality issues per policy and procedure., • Understand and participate in Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities., • Assist in transferring patients between wheel-chairs, dialysis chairs, hospital beds, stretchers, etc., • Use transfer equipment such as sliding boards, transfer belts and hoyer lifts per policy and procedure., • Collect blood samples for lab work., • Assist in reposition patients in dialysis chairs or hospital beds., • Assist patients in transferring onto and off of the toilet., • Assist patients with personal hygiene care (peri-care) as needed., • Assist patients in the use of bed pans., • Mix dialysis solutions., • Monitor and test water used for dialysis., • Use chemicals per procedure to effectively and safely disinfect equipment and surfaces., • Current CHT or CCHT certification., • Current Washington State MA-HT certification, or able to obtain., • Current CPR with BLS certification with American Heart Association required., • Previous dialysis experience required., • ACLS, • BLS/BCLS, • PALS, • NRP, • ATT, • CPI, • ENPC, • RNFA, • TNCC, • AWHONN, • NIHSS, • STABLE, • ASLS, • CCHT, • BONENT, • High school diploma or equivalent., • Current certification of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) with a Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers card., • Must maintain an active BLS-CPR certification., • Must apply to Washington (WA) State for Medical Assistant-Hemodialysis Technician, • Certificate (MA-HTC) within 40 days from date of hire into the position. Must maintain an active MA-HTC, • Must obtain the National Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) or Certified Clinical, • Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) by the 18th month in the position., • Must maintain an active CHT or CCHT., • Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) & Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) training preferred., • Previous healthcare experience preferred but not required.Other Requirements:, • Work at any client facility., • Maintain the confidentiality of patient and employee information., • Successfully complete mandatory in-service trainings., • Able to maintain professional relationships and boundaries with patients., • Dedication to professionalism, maturity, caring, and diplomacy.
