Job Description Job Title: Production Associate Job Description The Production Associate plays a key role in manufacturing small metal parts used in Toyota vehicles by operating production lines, supporting stamping and welding processes, and performing quality checks. This position involves hands-on work with large stamping presses, machine welding stations, and various production lines, ensuring materials and finished parts meet quality standards and move efficiently through the facility. The role requires strong attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and reliability, with opportunities to support different areas such as crane operation, fuel lid inspection, line leadership, machine setup, quality auditing, and tip sharpening. Responsibilities • Operate production lines to support the stamping and welding of small metal parts for automotive components., • Push carts of product and move materials throughout the facility to keep production running smoothly., • Perform lifting and general labor tasks, including handling materials and loading or unloading as needed., • Maintain a high level of attention to detail when working on parts and products to ensure quality standards are met., • Demonstrate initiative by taking ownership of tasks and supporting team members across different production areas., • Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality to support consistent production operations., • Assist with crane operation and crane-related tasks under appropriate guidance., • Move and organize large metal coils safely and efficiently, working alone or with another team member., • Perform quality checks on fuel lids to ensure they meet standards, and carry out general production tasks related to fuel lid manufacturing., • Support line lead activities by double-checking products and helping build pallets based on customer orders., • Collaborate with team members to monitor productivity and quality across assigned lines., • Set up stamping and welding machines and adjust machinery settings to support production requirements., • Troubleshoot basic mechanical issues and ensure machines are properly configured for each job., • Conduct quality checks on small metal parts, primarily through visual inspection, and perform minor dimensional checks when required., • Read diagrams and follow written work instructions to confirm that team members follow correct processes and job duties., • Audit press, weld, conveyance, and quality processes and report findings to the quality team using an iPad., • Walk the production floor regularly to observe operations, identify issues, and provide feedback to team members when necessary., • Use lathe and grinding machines to sharpen tips for the welding department, ensuring tools are prepared for production., • Handle materials, including assembly, order selection, inventory tasks, picking, packing, loading, and general labor activities., • Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed to move product and supplies., • Interpret and understand all work instructions related to the position and complete all required paperwork accurately., • Remain open to other job duties, including machine operating and cross-training in different roles as requested., • Work collaboratively with a team while managing responsibilities at an individual workstation. Essential Skills • Ability to stand on feet for 810 hours per shift, including up to 10+ hours a day as needed., • Ability to lift 30+ pounds repeatedly and lift items overhead on a regular basis., • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, such as a production facility or warehouse., • Prior experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, shipping, receiving, or general labor roles., • Ability to handle materials safely and efficiently, including assembly, picking, packing, loading, and inventory tasks., • Strong attention to detail when inspecting parts and products for quality., • Reliability in attendance and punctuality, showing up every day on time., • Ability to read, interpret, and understand work instructions and diagrams., • Ability to complete all necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner., • Comfort working with machinery and tools, including basic machine operation., • Willingness to work as part of a team while managing tasks independently at a workstation., • Openness to cross-training and performing different job duties as business needs change. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with crane operation or assisting with crane-related tasks., • Experience moving and organizing large metal coils in a manufacturing environment., • Experience performing dimensional checks or working with diagrams and process instructions., • Familiarity with machine setup and adjusting settings on stamping or welding equipment., • Mechanical aptitude and comfort with troubleshooting basic mechanical issues., • Experience using an iPad or similar device to record data and report findings., • Interest in leadership roles, such as line lead or lead operator, and ability to work with a team to monitor productivity and quality., • Experience building pallets based on customer orders and supporting shipping or conveyance processes., • Experience using lathe and grinding machines, particularly for tool or tip sharpening., • Tenure in previous roles that demonstrates commitment, reliability, and strong work ethic. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.50 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
