In this full-time leadership role, you will oversee the maintenance and repair of key facilities, ensuring they provide a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for the entire West Herr portfolio. West Herr Offers: • $22 - $25 per hour based on experience, • Medical, Dental and Vision insurance, • 401(k) retirement plan with matching contributions, • Vehicle purchase program, • Comprehensive employee recognition program, • Opportunity for advancement Key Responsibilities - Grounds Manger: • Knowledge of and the ability to maintain ground equipment, etc., are a big plus, as this position requires hands-on work and oversight of these types of tasks., • Must desire to provide exceptional guest service, have excellent organizational skills, and work well under pressure with various people., • Supervise, train, and evaluate grounds crew staff., • Plan, schedule, and assign daily tasks and long-term projects Make recommendations for modifications/procedures., • Perform periodical inspections of all assigned work areas., • Instruct employees on the proper methods and use of equipment., • Operate all grounds-related equipment as required., • Ensure proper routine maintenance is performed on all motorized equipment, daily start-up and shut-down procedures, use and maintenance of equipment and tools, shop cleanliness, etc., • Report to work as required under emergency conditions, as necessary., • Manage lawn care, snow plowing tree removal, planting, spraying, and weed control., • Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of tools, equipment, and workspaces., • Coordinate with other departments for special events and campus clean-up projects., • Supervise the care and maintenance of lawns, shrubs, and hedges, tree removal, planting, spraying, and weed eradication., • Manage vendor interactions for plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC services, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness. Safety Responsibilities: The Grounds Manager is accountable for maintaining a safe work environment. This includes ensuring all team members are trained in safety protocols and actively participate in maintaining a safe and hazard-free workplace. Ensure all maintenance operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as West Herr's quality control policies. Lead the way in promoting a safe and secure working environment. Minimum Qualifications: • Education & Experience:, • High school diploma required., • 3 - 5 years of relevant ground maintenance, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role., • Professional certifications in groundskeeping are a plus., • Technical Skills:, • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required., • Familiarity with work order systems and scheduling software is beneficial., • Licensing & Physical Requirements:, • Valid New York Driver's License required; Commercial Class B license preferred., • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions., • Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)., • Communication & Interpersonal Skills:, • Strong verbal and written communication skills., • Positive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to excellent guest service., • Other Requirements:, • Please upload your resume.
