Job DescriptionDescription: Position Summary The Facility Porter keeps our production and support areas clean, safe, stocked, and inspection ready. This role performs routine facility upkeep, waste handling, light maintenance support, and sanitation prep in accordance with GMP, SQF, HACCP, and OSHA standards to minimize contamination risk and downtime. Requirements: **This role is a full-time in-person position Key Responsibilities Facility Cleanliness & Upkeep • Sweep, mop, scrub, and detail-clean floors, drains, walls, breakrooms, restrooms, offices, and corridors., • Collect, sort, and remove waste, recyclables, and organics; stage totes and compactors for pickup; document volumes as required., • Maintain exterior grounds (entryways, loading docks, walkways, parking areas), including sweeping, debris removal, light landscaping, and snow/ice melt application where applicable., • Stage, move, and return sanitation carts, hoses, squeegees, and chemicals; mix ready-to-use solutions per SOPs and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)., • Support pre- and post-production cleanup (e.g., spill response, floor drying, drain covers, waste segregation)., • Assist with changeover housekeeping and allergen control cleaning as directed by Sanitation/Quality., • Safely move supplies (pallets of paper goods, liners, drums, empty totes) using pallet jack and, if certified, forklift., • Receive and store janitorial/PPE/chemical supplies; rotate inventory (FIFO), track usage, and report low stock., • Follow LOTO boundaries, chemical handling, confined space awareness, and PPE requirements at all times., • Complete cleaning logs, chemical use records, and checklist verifications accurately and on time., • Support internal and third-party audits (SQF, customer, regulatory) by maintaining audit-ready zones. Required • 1+ year experience in janitorial, custodial, facility porter, or sanitation role (manufacturing, food/beverage, warehouse, or hospitality)., • Working knowledge of GMPs, basic chemical safety, dilution control, and SDS use., • Ability to read and follow SOPs, schedules, and checklists, English communication skills., • Reliable attendance: flexibility to work off-shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed., • Food/beverage manufacturing or SQF/HACCP environment experience., • Forklift certified Auto-scrubbers, floor sweepers, wet/dry vacuums, dilution stations, pressure sprayers, squeegees, pallet jacks/forklifts (if certified), compactors/balers, and standard hand tools. Work Environment & Physical Requirements • Primarily on production floors, warehouses, docks, and exterior grounds; exposure to varying temperatures, moisture, and noise., • Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing short ladders, and handling of cleaning agents with required PPE.
