The Direct Support Professional is responsible for assisting individuals with developmental disabilities and/or other impairments to live as independently as possible within the community. The position is required to maintain a professional and positive attitude while encouraging people we support to pursue their personal interests at home and in the community. These tasks may include grooming, housekeeping, budgeting, shopping, etc. according to support needs of the individual. ❖ Promote and advocate for individualized services and implementation according to the plan. Document service provision as indicated in plans and regulations including but not limited to res hab goals, behavior data, sleep charts, logbooks, etc. ❖ Ensure protective oversight is provided to the people we support in accordance with their Plan of Protective Oversight. ❖ Accompany the people we support on community outings. ❖ Communicate with other program staff via the communications logbook and attendance at staff meetings. ❖ Work collaboratively with other members of staff in maintaining a positive, encouraging environment to support the people we support.
